Pokémon Stadium games coming to Nintendo Switch
Pokémon Stadium was a line of games from the Pokémon franchise in the late 90s and early 2000s. Players could upload their Pokémon and battle other trainers. Most mainline Pokémon games have battling, but Stadium was all about battling. There was very little other gameplay mechanics. The games were quite popular on the Nintendo 64.
These games focused largely on Generation I Pokémon, like Clefairy, Charizard, and others. Now, these beloved classics are coming to Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo announces Pokémon Stadium games in Nintendo Direct
Both Pokémon Stadium and its sequel will soon be available. These games are part of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription. With that, players have access to online gameplay for Switch games. The key selling point, however, is access to the retro game library. With Switch Online, players can play old NES and SNES games. Classics like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3 and more are available.

With the expansion, players can play old N64 games as well. The Pokémon Stadium games will be available through that. It does cost more than the normal subscription, though.
