How to find out your region in Pokemon GO

Knowing your region is actually quite simple. Each region in the game is associated with an actual geographical location. These locations are large and can feature some of the rarest Pokemon in Pokemon Go.

To find out what Pokemon GO region you are in, do the following:

  • Open Pokemon Go.
  • Click on your character’s face in the bottom left corner.
  • Scroll down to your medals on the character page.
  • About half way down, you’ll see some brownish looking medals. One of those looks like a butterfly. Click on that and it will open a map with butterfly patterns beneath it.
  • On the bottom left of the map is a magnifying glass.
  • Click on that and you can find where you are on the map and the corresponding region.
