PUBG PCS 5 – Schedule, Teams, Pick’em Predictions & More

PUBG Continental Series 5 (PCS 5) tour will be the last chance for teams to qualify for the PUBG Global Championship in December. The event is held across four regions, starting on Sept 16th.

PUBG Corp. has pledged a combined prize pool of $1,000,000 divided among four regions ($250,000 each). Additionally, the sales of PCS5 items in the in-game shop will controbute another 30% to the total prize pool. 64 teams (16 in each region) have either qualified or earned a direct invite to this event. Only 7 teams are guaranteed a spot at PGC 2021, meaning 25 slots are still up for grabs.

Let’s check out PCS 5 Schedule, teams and set our predictions for the PUBG Pick’em Challenge.

PUBG Continental Series 5 Americas

We kick our breakdown off with the combined North + South America series. This is likely the easiest region to predict as Soniqs smash every competition in this region. They are the favorite to win the whole event, and the default choice for the Pick’em challenge.

Next in line we have Dignitas, Oath and Young Kings who should all contest for positions #2 through #4 in the standings. Out of these three, both Oath and Young Kings take a more systematic approach to the game, while Dignitas likes fragging out more. If it comes down to kill counts, expect DIG to have the edge.

PUBG Continental Series 5 Europe

PCS 5 Europe is in a similar situation as the Americas. Virtus.pro is head and shoulders above the competition and expected to win the competition with ease. It has been a low season for EU with plenty of the heavy hitters becoming obsolete. FaZe Clan has struggled to remain relevant ever since Ubah got benched, and Team Liquid is still having difficulty closing out games and netting Chicken Dinners in the new format. Natus Vincere and ENCE are still stuck in their age old edge playing patterns and can only execute if they are hard fed circles or nobody is watching over the blue through which they rotate in. We do hope EMEA has something better to offer with the newcomer squads like Vanir and SuperMassive Blaze, and shocks the system in this region.

PUBG Continental Series 5 Asia

Probably the most stacked region in PCS 5, Asia will see the battle between hard hitters from China and Korea. With T1, Afreeca Freecs, Infantry, Tianba and 4AM all missing out, there is plenty of fresh blood clashing in this event.

Gen.G and MultiCircle Gaming are still the highest rated favorites due to their legacy and consistency in competition. NewHappy were the summer champions in China, but are lacking the international experience to be considered favorites. The same can be said for half the Korean teams in attendance. If you want to see the direction competitive PUBG is taking as a whole, PCS 5 Asia is the broadcast you shouldn’t miss.

PUBG Continental Series 5 APAC

We save the most aggressive of the four regions for last. Five smaller regions packed into the APAC competition promises plenty of action and the most aggressive play style you can imagine. No team in this competition likes to play passive and rest on their laurels. Between Bao Nam United, Fury, Attack All Around and Daytrade, we cant really figure out who will come up on top.

Each team pushes their advantages to the maximum for better or worse in each round they play. Do not be surprised if kill tiebreakers resolve this entire region as the Chicken Dinners end up being spread wide across the leaderboard. If we had to choose one team for the PUBG Pick’em Challenge it would be Bao Nam United.
