R6 Major Manchester Most Popular BLAST Event to Date

It has been confirmed that by peak viewership, the BLAST R6 Major Manchester was the most popular BLAST event in the Rainbow Six space ever. This past weekend, the BLAST Major unfolded in Manchester in front of a sellout crowd, and from start to finish, the event was electric and energetic. It featured some of the best match-ups seen in recent years, and the showdown between beastcoast and Team BDS was nothing short of unforgettable.

With 138,000 peak concurrent viewers, the BLAST R6 Major Manchester beat the likes of the Atlanta and Copenhagen Majors. Understandably, the most popular match of the tournament was the beastcoast vs. BDS series that wrapped up the entire week-long competition.

Breaking Records

During the BLAST R6 Major, a new record was set for the most kills in an international best-of-five. Shaun ‘Gunnar’ Pottorff steamed through the competition but applied the most pressure during the final match against Team BDS. For the fans and viewers, it was an exhilarating match that set a new standard, with beastcoast rising through the ranks as an underdog and securing one of the biggest prizes in Rainbow Six esports.

Following the event, it was then revealed that it had set a record as the most-watched BLAST R6 Major in history.

There are now huge expectations going forward for beastcoast, the North American team riding high on white-hot momentum. At the Major, beastcoast laid waste to FaZe Clan and Team Liquid before forcefully ejecting Team BDS from the running to lift the trophy on the stage in Manchester. It was something of a Cinderella run – nobody expected beastcoast to go all the way, and it was the first major trophy that the organisation has ever won in Rainbow Six Siege.

Now, the Rainbow Six world looks forward to the next season of the game – Operation New Blood. Beyond that sits the Montreal Major, and next year, the Six Invitational, which is due to take place in North America. Will beastcoast win the ultimate prize on home turf?
