Riptide 2022 Melee
The Melee event at Riptide 2022 has a prize pool of over $4,000 for singles. The tournament is being played in the standard format, with pools and a bracket, it has some of the best Melee players attending.
Zain will be playing at the event. He’s been on the top of his game lately. He grabbed first place at Shine 2022, along with 4th at Smash Con, and 3rd on Get on My Level. He’s been attending most majors in recent weeks and consistently placing in the higher end.
Hungrybox will be playing at the tournament. He’s been one of the best Melee players in history and is still at the top of the game’s competitive community. Most recently, he’s taken wins at Wavedash and Get on my Level. Jmook lost out to Hungrybox at both GOML and Wavedash. However, he’s had pretty solid second-place rankings at a lot of recent majors. He could claim the top spot at Riptide 2022.
Ultimate at Riptide ’22
Melee has some huge players attending. However, the Ultimate side of the game is well represented at this tournament too. Ultimate has a bigger prize pool, with over $7,000 for singles and just under $3,000 for doubles. This tournament isn’t quite as stacked as the upcoming Smash Ultimate Summit 5. However, there are high-level players here. These are some of the names to watch out for:
- Zomba
- Ned
- Tilde
- Toast
- Jake
- Lui$
- WaDi
- ApolloKage
- Skittles
All of the events culminate on Sunday Sept. 11 with the top elimination matches being played out in both Melee and Ultimate.
