Toronto Ultra looking unstoppable ahead of third Call of Duty League Major

The third Call of Duty League Major is kicking off this week with $500,000 on the line. Toronto Ultra took Stage 3 by storm clean sweeping the group and setting themselves up for success in the opening round of the major. Ever since Jamie “Insight” Craven made the move to the starting roster, Ultra has been on point in their matches dropping only a single map in their entire Stage 3 run.

Can they stay on form in a potential opener against ATL FaZe, and will they claim a back2back major trophy? Let’s take a look at the CDL Major 3 bracket, and set our predictions and picks.

CDL Major 3 Bracket

CDL Major 3 – Bracket predictions

Three teams are setting all the expectations in the upcoming major. We already mentioned the rising Toronto Ultra as the main contender, but Group B “winners” FaZe and Subliners are strong contenders as well. FaZe needs no introduction as they have largely dominated each stage this season. However, both Ultra and the Subliners have caught up and are a setting up this major as a battle between three contenders. The ideal scenario would be the New York squad winning this major to set up a perfect division of power between the teams.

Between the three, FaZe and Ultra a facing an early duel based on how the bracket has shaped up. We do expect this to be a close match, with a slight edge towards FaZe. Last time they met, Ultra had the upper hand and surprise factor that seemingly cause their opponents off-guard. We doubt this will be the case once again. Yes, this also means we expect Empire to fall down do the losers bracket after the opening round.

New York Subliners are awaiting the winner between the Florida Mutineers and LA Thieves. Both teams are on relatively even footing, but I expect Mutineers to take the cake 3-1, especially if Cesar “Skyz” Bueno pops off in this match. Once matched against Subliners in the following round, we still have to go with NY as our pick taking the series 3-1 or 3-0.

This would mean FaZe and Subliners meeting in the Winners Final for a rematch of their Stage 2 Group Stage duel.

Meanwhile, in the Elimination Bracket, Ravens and Surge should have an easy time winning their opening duels before they bet fall out at the hands of Optic Chicago and Minnesota Rokkr respectively. From that point forward, Rokkr should have an easy time all the way through to Round 4 where they likely meet Ultra of FaZe depending on the outcome. Optic’s line on the other hand is messier with each Round being a coin toss between the teams.

In the end, my CDL Pick’ems bracket shaped up like this:

CDL Major 3 Bracket Predictions

I can’t wait to see if this bracket and my CDL Pick’em predictions are going to pan out as expected. If everything goes according to plan, we also stand to make a good return on Call of Duty Betting with only the opening already offering a x9.47 return over at GG.BET, if you predict the winners outright as I have.
