VCT Pacific Stage One 2025 is the second event of the season. The 12 teams compete in a group stage followed by the playoffs stage. During the group stage, RRQ secured the top spot in their group, giving them a bye to the second round of the upper bracket. They then defeated DRX to secure the spot in the upper bracket finals against Gen G.
The Upper Bracket Final ended in a dominant victory for Gen G with a scoreline of 2-0. To get to the grand finals, RRQ needed to defeat PRX in the Lower Bracket Finals. In quite the comeback, they defeated PRX 3-2, securing their spot in the grand finals against Gen G. Prior to this match, RRQ had lost to Gen G in 7 of the eight matches they faced. Two of these losses were during the 2025 season.
Rewriting History!
In the first map of Haven, Gen G dominated while on defense, ending the first half with a score of 8-4. They continued this run of form on attack and won the first map with a scoreline of 13-8.
The second map was played on Ascent. Typically, this map is seen as defense-oriented, but this fixture turned this theory on its head. RRQ won the first nine maps in a row on attack, ending the half with a score of 10-2. Gen G did nearly the same, winning eight rounds on attack in a row, taking the scoreline to 11-12. Sadly, they couldn’t take it to overtime, and RRQ won map 2.
Maps 3 and 4 had quite a similar story. RRQ is not the best in attack, but incredible on defense. On Map 3, they won 8 out of the 10 rounds on defense. In the final map, they won 7 out of the 12 rounds that were played. The series MVP was none other than Maksim “Jemkin” Batorov. Below are his stats during the VCT Pacific Stage One grand finals:
- Average Combat Score: 268
- K/D/A: 89/64/14
- Average Damage per Round: 174
- Headshot%: 44%
- First kills: 26
