How to fix unable to invite players issue in VALORANT

Let’s go through some of the most common problems that might be blocking you from inviting your friends for a game.

Check server status

First, check the VALORANT server status. It’s not your connection sometimes that has been acting up but Riot Games’ servers are the problem. Head to the official Riot Games status page or check VALORANT’s Twitter for any updates. If the servers are down, you’ll just need to wait it out.

Make sure you are in the same region as your friends

The first common mistake players make is trying to invite a friend to play when they’re in a different region. This is simply not allowed and no amount of troubleshooting is going to change that issue for you. Cross-region play is not available on VALORANT, League of Legends, and more. Essentially, if it’s made by Riot Games, you are locked to a specific region.

Previously, there was a way on how to change region in VALORANT. Say you had a friend who was from North America but your account is located in Europe, you could change servers.

Now, this isn’t the case for VALORANT. Once you make the account, you’re stuck with that region until the end of time. Therefore, if you cannot play VALORANT with friend, you must ensure that both you and your friend are in the same region.

Possible connection issues

This is a more common issue amongst the VALORANT active players. Sometimes, it isn’t the game’s fault that you’re unable to invite players in VALORANT. If the connection is not strong enough between you, and/or the player you’re trying to invite, the game will struggle to invite them. A simple solution for fixing this issue is to reset your internet.

  • Turn your PC off from the power socket.
  • Unplug your Ethernet cable from your PC.
  • Turn off your router and or modem and wait 30 seconds.
  • Turn your router/modem on and wait for it to establish your internet connection is running. On most devices, the lights will be turned on to indicate you’re connected to the internet.
  • Turn your PC back on from the power socket.
  • Plug the Ethernet cable back in.
  • Load up VALORANT and invite your friend.

This could mean you are on the up-to-date version of the game, while you’re friend is on a previous patch. You can regularly check when is the next VALORANT update on our site.
