Since 2024, multiple reports have been made regarding VALORANT Mobile. At first, it was all just rumors and screenshots that many believed to be fake. Finally, during the press conference of VALORANT Champions 2025, Riot Games acknowledged the existence of the game.

Following this, multiple closed betas of the game were hosted within China. Now, in 2025, the launch of VALORANT mobile is closer than ever. On the Huawei App Store, there is a webpage talking about the upcoming Tencent Spark 2025 event. During this event, the Chinese gaming company will discuss multiple games. In a paragraph within the website, it states the following:

“VALORANT: Energy Operation pre-order starts on April 21.”

One must note that VALORANT: Energy Operation is the name of VALORANT Mobile in China. It is the same name that was present in the document approving the launch of the game in China. This confirms that in the upcoming event, we will get to see a trailer and a gameplay reveal of VALORANT Mobile.

Currently, there are no reports available on the game’s global launch. This is because it was previously reported that Riot Games would develop VALORANT Mobile, and Tencent would develop VALORANT Mobile China.

The Impact of VALORANT Mobile

It’s good that VALORANT is one of the most popular PC games in the world. At the same time, a country like China has invested a substantial amount in mobile within the esports industry. Games like Honor of Kings have prize pools for tournaments that are over $5 million as well.

Since the launch of VALORANT and VCT China in 2024, the game has gotten a huge Chinese fan base. During the Masters Bangkok, this was quite prevalent, with a considerable portion of the fans coming from China. The mobile gaming industry in 2024 was valued at approximately $44.8 billion. Thus, it does make monetary and strategic sense for Riot Games to launch VALORANT Mobile in China.

During the VALORANT Champions 2024 Press conference, Riot Games mentioned that a VCT league for VALORANT Mobile is in the works, but did not confirm whether it will happen. It will be interesting to note the difference in gameplay between the three versions of the game.

When VALORANT Console was launched, it didn’t have all the agents in the game. Only after some monthly updates did all the maps become available within the game alongside the agents.

If the registration of the game starts from April 21 in China, one must wonder when it will be open for launch. Many of the questions concerning VALORANT Mobile will likely be answered at the upcoming Tencent Spark event on April 21.
