Respawn’s latest masterpiece is an online multiplayer game so as always the Apex Legends Server status is going to be in the back of your mind. Even something like hopping into the training room to get some aim training in can be an issue if the servers don’t play nice.

Apex Legends does do its best to let you know in game about the server status, and possible outages through the main menu screen. If you find that the majority of the Apex Legends player base are having issues, then its likely with the server.
Other ways to check would be to see if any other games that you have launch. If Apex doesn’t launch through Steam, you should also check the Steam server status. Testing a game on there or Epic Games launchers is a great way to see if its specific to EA. If other games launch there, we’re looking at an EA issue.
Check for updates, as it is the most common issue when trying to log in the game. Updates for Apex Legends can be forced through the launcher, but if no updates are pushing, it may be worth a reinstall if it’s not EA and nothing else works. If you’re on console this might already be your go to.
If your game is ever out of parity with the server, you won’t be able to connect. Try any other games like Apex Legends that launch through EA, such as Starwarsd Battlefront, give them a go. That can be a great way to figure out if its localized to Apex Legends, or EA servers as a whole.

The best way to find out whether the servers are down intentionally is to look at official socials. The Apex Legends Twitter/X will have updates for maintenance periods where servers will go offline. And any long term outages that weren’t planned also end up on socials on many an occasions. You won’t be the only one checking if Apex Legends server status is down, or if its an unplanned outage.
