Best Winter Skins in League of Legends (Ranked)

A selection of festive and winter-themed League of Legends skins featuring champions in Christmas outfits and snowy designs

Let’s get into our list for the best Festive skins in LoL. Remember that this is not purely a Christmas skins LoL list. We’re ranking all the winter-themed and Christmas skins together, so the more general ice-based skins in the Winterblessed skin line can be included here.

15. Dark Candy Fiddlesticks

Dark Candy Fiddlesticks brings a creepy Christmas twist to League of Legends with candy-themed horror visuals
A touch of festive fear. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 14, 2012.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 975 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Those looking for a slightly different kind of festive LoL skin are sure to enjoy the creepiness of Dark Candy Fiddlesticks. The skin combines Christmas aesthetics with a dark horror vibe thanks to Fiddlesticks’s terrifying nature. He looks like something pulled from a Tim Burton movie, with candy cane body parts and a Christmas tree-shaped scythe. Fiddlesticks’s effects get creepy festive changes, too, including sleigh bell sound effects that merge with haunting ho ho hos.

14. Workshop Nunu & Willump

Ambitious Elf Jinx rides into battle in League of Legends with festive toys, gifts, and chaotic Christmas energy
A great choice of a festive LoL skin at a cheaper price than most. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 17, 2009.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 520 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Workshop Nunu and Willump is a great budget festive LoL skin, transforming Nunu into an elf and Willump into a reindeer. Not much changes animation-wise, as the character animations are already snow and ice themed. However, Willump’s adorable reindeer design is more than enough to make up for it.

13. Candy Cane Miss Fortune

Candy Cane Miss Fortune lounges among presents in a festive League of Legends holiday skin splash art
Simple yet elegant. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 14, 2010.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 975 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Miss Fortune’s Candy Cane skin offers a new Santa dress for the character, along with holiday candy-themed effects for her ability animations. It’s fun, festive, and a cheaper choice for those looking for a Christmas LoL skin that includes a new design and changes to animations and effects.

12. Festive Maokai

Festive Maokai in League of Legends appears as a living Christmas tree surrounded by gifts and holiday lights
It’s hard to ignore the Groot vibes. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 14, 2011.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 975 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Maokai is a tree spirit, so it makes sense for him to receive a Christmas tree skin with a golden star. His throwable saplings become Christmas presents, which is a unique touch that adds to the skin’s festive nature.

11. Snow Fawn Poppy

Snow Fawn Poppy in League of Legends charges through the snow with antlers, bells, and festive winter charm
Part fawn, part Christmas elf. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 17, 2017.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 1350 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

With this skin, Poppy becomes a wintery fawn-like creature who wields a giant staff with a jingle bell on the top. Her pigtails are turned into long, fawn-like tails, and she dons a hat with fawn antlers. Her abilities get ice and snow-themed visuals and sound effects, and her recall and sprint animations include a sleigh full of adorable Poros that trail behind her. It’s cute, cuddly, and perfectly Christmassy.

10. Snowmerdinger

Snowmerdinger in League of Legends launches festive snowball projectiles from icy turrets amid a snowy battlefield
Who knew that snowmen craved such violence. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 14, 2011.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 975 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Snowmerdinger gives Heimerdinger a full-body makeover, turning him into a sentient snowman wielding a candy cane. His turrets get Christmas-themed transformations, too. Although there aren’t any snowy animations to go with it, there is something fun and festive about traversing the game as a tiny waddling snowman.

9. Reindeer Smolder

Snow Fawn Poppy from League of Legends charges joyfully through a festive workshop, wielding a Christmas tree hammer adorned with lights as gifts and Poros scatter in a warm holiday glow
A precious baby reindeer. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends
  • Release date: December 3, 2025.
  • Available in the in-game shop for 1350 RP.
  • Epic skin.

Smolder’s design doesn’t always lend itself well to certain styles due to his short snout and cartoony eyes, which can give him an uncanny valley look. That being said, the Reindeer Smolder skin is undeniably adorable. Smolder gets a rework to look like a cute reindeer, complete with a red nose, antlers, and Christmas tree wings. His effects and animations also get a festive revamp, including the animation for his mother dragon, who swoops in and attacks enemies with his R ability. There are a few reindeer skins in League of Legends, but Smolder’s is definitely the cutest.

8. Snow Day Ziggs

Snow Day Gnar from League of Legends barrels downhill on a snowboard, grinning behind ski goggles as he kicks a massive rolling snowball with a carrot nose through a snowy winter landscape
Snow bombs galore. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends
  • Release date: December 14, 2012.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 975 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Ziggs is a champion who is known for his explosive nature and his love of bombs, and his Snow Day skin excellently reflects this. His bombs become snowballs, complete with icy effects when he throws them at enemies. It’s a simple premise that works perfectly with Ziggs as a character, making for one of the best winter LoL skins.

7. Santa Braum

Santa Braum in League of Legends relaxes by a glowing fireplace, reading his gift list as festive Poros and wrapped presents gather around in a snowy holiday scene
Santa got ripped. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 14, 2016.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 1350 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

There are a few Santa-themed skins for different champions in League of Legends, but Santa Braum is a standout. He might be more muscle-bound than the traditional depiction of Santa, but everything else about the skin is perfectly suited to jolly old Saint Nick. Braum’s shield becomes a Christmas fireplace complete with stockings and decorations, and he hurls Christmas presents instead of ice when using his Winter’s Bite skill. The addition of adorable antler-clad Poros in different animations and abilities enhances the skin even more so.

6. Prestige Winterblessed Warwick

Winterblessed Warwick appears in League of Legends as an icy, regal werewolf surrounded by spectral wolves and winter magic
The wolf of Winter. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 8, 2022.
  • Available in the Mythic shop for 150 Mythic Essence.
  • Mythic skin.

This is a skin that feels more winter fairytale themed than Christmas-like, but it’s a gorgeous look for werewolf Warwick and one of the best winter LoL skins. Warwick dons a fancy princely outfit with this skin, and his fur and tail get a crystalline, icy redesign. His abilities and effects also get an overhaul. It’s hard not to picture Warwick as a character from a folklore tale with this skin, and the wintry vibes only emphasize this.

5. Winter Wonder Zeri

Winterblessed Zeri in League of Legends unleashes icy magic with glowing blue effects and winter-themed armor
Shockingly icy. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 3, 2025.
  • Available in the in-game shop for 1820 RP.
  • Legendary skin.

Winter Wonder Zeri is – at the time of writing– one of the newer winter LoL skins, and there is a lot to love about it. Zeri’s usual electricity skills are replaced with ice powers, and the animations and effects reflect this winter change. Her movement skills are now themed around ice skating, while her gun now shoots ice rather than electricity. The changes work well with Zeri’s design, making the ice and snow powers feel natural.

4. Ambitious Elf Jinx

Ambitious Elf Jinx in League of Legends rides a toy train launcher through a festive, chaotic holiday scene
Elvish mischief inbound. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 12, 2017.
  • Currently locked in the Legacy Vault. When unvaulted, it can be purchased for 1350 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Jinx is all about chaos, explosions, and a dash of silliness, and her Ambitious Elf skin balances these elements perfectly within a festive frame. Jinx becomes an elf with a penchant for crafting exploding toys with this skin. Her weapons are one of the best parts of the outfits, especially her rocket launcher, which has been turned into a giant, toothy Christmas present with googly eyes. As well as changes to the effects and animations, Jinx also rides a toy train when sprinting and in her recall animation. The train also doubles as a new look for her mini gun. It’s festive, but it’s still very much Jinx.

3. Winter Wonder Milio

Winter Wonder Milio in League of Legends uses icy magic alongside adorable winter spirits
The baby seals are quite possibly the cutest critters in the world. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 3, 2025.
  • Available in the in-game shop for 1350 RP.
  • Epic skin.

At the time of writing, Winter Wonder Milio is only the third Milio skin, but it manages to be one of the best winter skins in the game. Much like Zeri’s Winter Wonder skin, Milio’s powers change completely with this skin. He wields ice magic rather than his usual fire magic, and his Fuemigo fire spirit companions have become adorable baby seals nestled within his new igloo backpack. Everything about the regular skin changes to reflect the Winter Wonder skin line, and it makes for a visually stunning and fantastically executed winter-themed LoL skin.

2. Snow Day Bard

Snow Day Bard in League of Legends slides through the snow with penguin companions in a playful winter scene

  • Release date: December 10, 2015.
  • Available in the in-game shop for 1350 RP.
  • Legacy skin.

Snow Day Bard is an absolute classic, and arguably the best of the Snow Day skins in LoL. It’s an oldie, but a goodie. With this skin, Bard gets cute baby penguin companions and a cozy-looking winter outfit. His abilities are also changed animation-wise. His Caretaker’s Shrine health beacon turns into a cup of hot cocoa, while his Magical Journey portal turns his allies into penguins for a brief period. It’s perfect, ticking all the boxes of a great Christmas skin.

1. Winterblessed Diana

Winterblessed Diana stands beneath the aurora, channeling icy magic in a League of Legends winter skin
Beautiful and with plenty of special features, Winterblessed Diana is a feast for the eyes. Image source: Riot Games and League of Legends.
  • Release date: December 8, 2022.
  • Available in the in-game shop for 1820 RP.
  • Legendary skin.

Our top spot goes to Winterblessed Diana, which is not only one of the best Winterblessed skins in League of Legends, but also one of the absolute best winter skins. The skin is themed around the Northern Lights. The animations are gorgeous, as is Diana’s model. One of the coolest things about the skin is that if Diana gets a Pentakill, the Summoners’ Rift map is engulfed in a wintry hue. It’s a must for Diana mains and fans of the Winterblessed skin line.

How to Get Winter Skins in League of Legends

There are a few ways to get winter and Christmas skins in League of Legends. A fair amount of the skins are locked away in the Legacy Vault and return during the holiday season on a rotating basis. Keep an eye on the League of Legends shop during the winter months if you have your eye on a particular skin.

These skins tend to cost RP, or Riot Points. RP is the main form of in-game currency in League of Legends. The Prestige skins cost Mythic Essence, which is a premium currency only obtained via The Sanctum gacha system or in seasonal battle passes as a reward.

Are These Winter Skins Worth Buying?

The question of which winter skins are worth buying is a matter of personal preferences, but overall, plenty of these skins offer a fun, festive or wintry theme for a fair price. That being said, Legendary skins, higher quality skins – such as those in the Winterblessed line – and more recent winter skins in LoL are pricier. Because of this, they are only worth paying for if you are certain that you will make the most out of it, such as if it is a skin for a champion that you play frequently.

Some great budget winter skins in League of Legends include the following:

  • Candy Cane Miss Fortune: 975 RP
  • Earnest Elf Tristana: 520 RP
  • Reindeer Kog’Maw: 975 RP
  • Santa Gragas: 975 RP
  • Silent Night Sona: 520 RP
  • Slay Belle Katarina: 975 RP
  • Snowmerdinger: 975 RP
  • Workshop Nunu & Willump: 520 RP
