What Is Black Ops 7 Zombies?

Black Ops 7 Zombies is the next iteration of the fan-favorite CoD game mode, where players are tasked with fighting hordes of the undead while progressing through a storyline. From what we can tell, BO7 brings a mix of new and returning features, including new characters, perks, and enemy types that tie in with old ones.

In addition, a new Wonder Vehicle has been added to the mode, called Ol’ Tessie. This truck will come in handy as players travel around the new “Ashes of the Damned” map, which the CoD team describes as being “the largest ever round-based Zombies map.”

There’s also a new Wonder Weapon alongside the classic Ray Gun and Ray Gun MKII: the Necrofluid Gauntlet. Players can also expect six new field upgrades and six Ammo Mod types, each with a fresh entry. And just like BO6, all upgrades will come with their own mix of new and returning Augments.

All Black Ops 7 Zombies Maps At Launch

Black Ops 7 Zombies will ship with two maps: Ashes of the Damned and Vandorn Family Farm (simply “Farm”). However, both will be used for different game modes.

Standard Mode

Standard mode brings back the classic round-based Zombies mode from Black Ops 6 and its predecessors. Players will follow a storyline with a main quest and side quests, while fighting off hordes of zombies that grow stronger each round.

Ashes of the Damned will be the launch map for this mode, inspired by the fan-favorite “TranZit” from Black Ops 2. This includes large interconnected zones, vehicular travel, and a strong focus on exploration to push Zombies beyond the confines of a single arena.

Survival Mode

Survival mode returns from Black Ops 2, pitting players against endless hordes of zombies to see how long they can last. There will be no quests or storylines to follow in this mode, and the launch map for it is called Vandorn Family Farm (basically, a smaller area carved out of Ashes of the Damned).

What Is The Black Ops 7 Zombies Gameplay Storyline?

The Black Ops 7 Zombies storyline continues the Dark Aether Saga introduced in Black Ops Cold War. It kicks off right after the ending of the “Reckoning” main quest from BO6 Zombies, with Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo transported to the Dark Aether.

Here, they meet new versions of Edward Richtofen, “Tank” Dempsey, Takeo Masaki, and Nikolai Belinski, who are promptly transformed into Aether variants of themselves by a mysterious figure.

This cowboy-like character, known as “The Great Voice,” has already been teased in both the Modern Warfare III Zombies and Black Ops 6 Zombies storylines. This figure will serve as the primary antagonist of the storyline.
