What Is the Esports World Cup 2026?

EWC is an annual, multi-title tournament organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation, with ESL FACEIT Group serving as its operating partner.

It crowns champions in individual games, and a season-long Club Champion based on cross-title performance across many disciplines, all played out on a single global stage. At its core, the Esports World Cup brings publishers, teams, creators, and fans into a single competitive calendar.

In this event, strong runs matter far more than one big win. That’s because the format rewards consistency, smart roster choices, and steady podium finishes across the seven weeks in Riyadh.

Esports World Cup 2026 Dates & Location

The EWC 2026 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 6 to August 23, 2026.

Much like previous years, you can expect weekend finals, mid-week performances, and special creator events filling the gaps between Playoff stages. The full day-by-day schedule will follow once official brackets are released.

Riyadh’s setup is built for scale, featuring massive stages, expo zones, and fan areas near the city’s major venues. That is the heart of the Esports World Cup 2026 location planning. If you’re planning to attend, try to book accommodation near the main arenas for easier access.

Entry guidelines, security information, and venue maps will be published closer to Opening Week. Until then, you can check out the provisional Esports World Cup 2026 schedule below.

How The EWC 2026 Club Championship Works

The EWC 2026 Club Championship crowns the most consistent organization across all games in the event, awarding Club Points based on placements in each eligible competition. To appear on the Club Leaderboard, a club must finish top-8 in at least two competitions across EWC 2026.

Additionally, the EWC rules add a win condition for the overall title: to be eligible for 1st place in the Club Championship, an organization must win at least one eligible competition. This means that if the points leader has no wins, EWC will move the highest-ranked org with at least one tournament win into 1st overall.

EWC also published the preliminary Club Points table, which applies across eligible competitions, with scoring adjusted in some titles where placements are shared (such as joint 3rd–4th or 5th–8th finishes) rather than awarded separately.

  • 1st place: 1000 points
  • 2nd place: 750 points
  • 3rd place: 500 points
  • 3rd–4th place: 500 points
  • 4th place: 300 points
  • 5th place: 200 points
  • 5th–8th place: 200 points
  • 6th place: 150 points
  • 7th place: 100 points
  • 8th place: 50 points

EWC 2026 Prize Pool Structure

The total prize pool for the Esports World Cup 2026 has been set at $75,000,000.

From this amount, $30 million is allocated to the Club Championship, which rewards cross-game performance across the entire event. The top 24 Clubs earn payouts, with the overall Club Champion receiving $7 million.

The remaining $39 million will be distributed across individual Game Championships, with each of the 25 tournaments running its own prize pool. Additional funds are also set aside for Club and Player Awards, including MVP prizes and the Jafonso Award.

Some prize money is also tied to publisher-run qualifying events held before the main event.
