Pokemon GO Quick Catch Technique

  1. Get into a non-raid Pokemon encounter.
  2. (Optional, feed it a berry)
  3. Tap and hold the Pokeball button and slide without lifting over to the berry icon.
  4. If done correctly, neither menu should open. Without lifting, use a different finger to throw a pokeball at the pokemon.
  5. When the Pokeball connects, lift the first finger on the berry icon. If done correctly, the Pokeball menu will open while the catch animation happens.
  6. Press the escape icon in the top left before the catch animation finishes.

How do I know if it worked?

After you make it back to the overworld, the wild Pokemon will still be there. If you tap it again and it disappears from the map, it either fled after breaking out, or will be in your inventory after a successful quick catch. If it takes you back into the battle, then it broke out without fleeing.

In lucky egg sessions where you’re catching as many pokemon as you can in a timeframe, the time saves add up, so get practicing!
