Rocket League Credits – What Are They And How Can You Get Them?

Credits are the primary form of in-game currency in Rocket League, and can be used to purchase featured items, build items from blueprints, and upgrade the Rocket Pass. If you want to get the newest car designs, decals, and any other cosmetic items in your game, you’ll need to have credits first.

So, how do you go about in getting credits. Here’s the obvious and not so obvious ways.

How to Buy Credits in Rocket League

Credits can be purchased in-game:

• Go to the Item Shop from the Main Menu.
• In the bottom left corner, click the “buy credits” button, and select the amount of credits you want to buy.
• Select purchase, and you will be directed to your platform’s check-out system to confirm payment.

The prices for credit bundles are listed below:

• 500 credits – €4.49
• 1100 credits – €8.99
• 3000 credits – €22.99
• 6500 credits – €45.99

How to Buy Rocket League Credits on Nintendo Switch

If you play Rocket League on Switch, you can purchase credits in the Nintendo eShop. Head to the eShop, select In-Game items, find Rocket League, and select the credits option. Here you can choose and purchase the amount of credits you want.

Obtain Credits Through Rocket Pass

You can earn credits through the Rocket Pass, but unfortunately this requires purchasing the Premium Rocket Pass for 1000 credits. If you complete the Rocket Pass then you can earn these credits back.

How to Get Credits for Free?

Rocket League may host events that give players the opportunity to earn credits for free, such as the anniversary events in 2022 and 2023. However, these events are rare.

Tournament credits are a separate type of in-game currency that you can earn for free by progressing through in-game tournaments. These credits can be used to redeem Cups which contain random items.

How to Gift Credits?

Sadly there’s no way to gift credits since Rocket League trading has been removed and there’s currently no gift cards available for Epic Games or Rocket League.

How to Sell Items in Rocket League for Credits?

Since trading has been removed, it’s now impossible to sell or trade items in Rocket League for credits.

Why Can’t I Buy Credits?

Problems with buying credits are typically caused by bugs or account restrictions. Here’s some of the most common causes of these problems and how to fix them:

• Steam Overlay: If you play on Steam, check your settings in the Steam app and make sure that in-game Steam overlay is enabled.
• Parental Controls: Check your parental control settings and ensure there are no restrictions on account purchases.
• Going to Freeplay: You can also try going to free play and searching for a match, to reset the buying feature and fix bugs, then going back to the item shop to buy credits again.
