Will There Ever Be Another Skate Game?

As of 2023 (and at the time of writing this guide), Skate 4 is heavily in development, being worked on relentlessly by dedicated teams at Electronic Arts. It has been in development for quite some time, and fans are hungry for any news on the game. Since the game’s predecessor launched in 2010, sports fans have been eagerly awaiting a new skateboarding game, and re-releases of old Tony Hawk titles just haven’t filled the gap left by Skate 3.

At the time of its release, Skate 3 was a revolutionary title, from how it looked to how players controlled their board. It charged players with building up a fully customisable skate team, climbing the ranks and getting noticed, securing partnerships, board sales, and growing as a unit. It was a multiplayer title, too – players could build their own skate parks and invite their friends in to skate together.

It also featured Hall of Meat, a bizarre but entertaining game mode that sees players launch their character from tall structures. In Hall of Meat, the goal is to damage your character as much as physically possible – trust us, it’s funnier than it sounds.

It’s expected that all these features will surface in the next Skate game – and when it does launch, we’ll inevitably cover it in our comprehensive list of gaming guides.

All Cheat Codes for Skate 3

It doesn’t matter what platform you’re on, all of the Skate 3 cheat codes are activated in the exact same way. Firstly, you’ll need to navigate to the ‘Extras’ menu when paused and find the ‘Enter Cheat Code’ field. Then, type in the desired code from the list below, and that’s it- you’re ready to go. However, it’s important to bear in mind that all Skate 3 cheat codes will only work in ‘Freeskate’ mode.

So, they won’t help you win at the game, but they’ll inject a little more fun into your free-roaming capabilities.

  • miniskaters – Every character becomes tiny but still has a big head
  • mcfly – Turn your skateboard into a hoverboard
  • deadspacetoo – Unlock Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke as a playable skater
  • zombie – Pedestrians turn into zombies and attack you
  • streetsweeper – Return all movable objects to their original position
  • dontbesomayo – Unlock clothing and objects sponsored by… Miracle Whip

They’re not cheats, but there are a couple of secret character models that can be unlocked by playing the game’s Hall of Meat mode. For instance, if you complete more than half of the HoM challenges, you unlock ‘Dem Bones’, a literal skeleton. If you can complete every HoM challenge, you’ll unlock Meat Man – a skateboard-riding slab of meat.

Are There Any Skate 3 Mods?

There are some mods for Skate 3,  but they’re few and far between and relatively difficult to use. For those wanting to move away from Skate 3 cheat codes and to manipulate the game using mods, there are a few complex steps to follow. Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to play Skate 3 on a PC, which is the dominant platform for those looking to install mods on any game.

But, a PlayStation 3 emulator can be installed on a PC that can then be used to run some basic Skate 3 mods. Here’s a short clip taken from Reddit showing a user taking advantage of mods in Skate 3.

It’s not like using mods and cheats in a game like Fallout 4, which has tens of thousands of files to download, but it’s something. At the moment, there’s no way of knowing if Skate 4 will be released on PC – but if it is, you can bet your last dollar that there will be plenty of mods available for it.

That’s it for Skate 3 Cheat Codes

It’s not a lot, admittedly, but it’s enough to have a little fun with. It’s important to stress that Skate 3 is a brilliant game anyway, and it’s massively entertaining and open – you can skate to your heart’s content either with friends or by yourself. It has a great story, plenty of customisation, and mini-modes that you can use to while away the hours.

There may not be many Skate 3 cheat codes, but there’s plenty of potential wrapped up in this old skateboarding game.
