Is Titanfall 2 Crossplay? – Everything about Titanfall 2 in 2025
Titanfall 2 has had an interesting life cycle. Since its release in 2016, Titanfall 2 has been well-received by fans and critics for its excellent campaign, smooth movement, and great gunplay. Unfortunately, the game was unable to reach enough players because it was released between two of the biggest FPS gaming franchises, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and another EA title, Battlefield 1.

Titanfall 2 current player base
After its release in 2016, Titanfall 2 saw a steady decline in its player base as players began to lose interest in the game and play more popular shooters like Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Fortnite, which were released in 2017. It wasn’t until 2019 that developer Respawn Entertainment released a free-to-play spin-off of the game Apex Legends featured in the Titanfall universe. Respawn Entertainment quickly answered a popular question about their new FPS game, “Is Apex Legends Cross Platform?” by making crossplay available on the day one launch. It also included TitanFall 2 gunplay and movement, which made old fans of the game and new players return to try the game again.
Does Titanfall 2 support Crossplay?
Unfortunately, even with returning players over the years, Titanfall 2 still has not gained enough attention for the developers to incorporate crossplay into the game. While other FPS shooters like Call Of Duty Modern Warfare began including crossplay and cross-progression features in their games, Respawn Entertainment put almost all its resources into Apex Legends, which is the more successful FPS game. It’s not to say Titanfall 2 was abandoned entirely, as from time to time, little quality-of-life updates have been released for the players who still play TitanFall 2.
Final Thoughts
All hope isn’t lost, as rumours will have it that a third Titanfall game is in the works and with it should come all the modern features of online gaming, which also includes Crossplay Gaming.
However, the next Titanfall would have to go against some of the best crossplay games in the FPS genre. Although there hasn’t been an official statement from Respawn or EA, players have reasons to believe that a third game will be announced soon.
