The BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 are almost here. Running from July 29th to August 4th 2024, 16 teams will descend on Copenhagen’s BLAST Studio to fight for superiority in the early days of the new competitive CS2 season.
While there’s a small cash prize to be won here, there’s something bigger on the line. The top six teams at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups will qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 in September, which is one of the most prestigious events in the Counter-Strike calendar. The BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 are separated into two stages: the Group Stage and Play-ins. They use the following format:
Any team that doesn’t progress to the Fall Final here will have one more opportunity. They’ll qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, which is an online event played in August. This will determine the final set of teams attending the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024.
There are 16 top-tier CS2 teams from around the world attending the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024. All of the teams received their invites via the Partner and Affiliate team systems in place at BLAST, which guarantees entry to these events for the respective team. Looking at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024, there are some teams that should be nailed on to progress to the Fall Final. We’re looking at Natus Vincere, Spirit, and FaZe, although we also expect to see Vitality and G2 make it through without too much trouble.
The nature of this tournament means that someone must miss out on the Fall Final qualification, and we’ve got a sneaky feeling it might be Astralis and Liquid. Astralis showed signs of fragility before the player break, so it depends on whether they’ve managed to sort out their issues in that team. Liquid could take a while to mesh together, especially with Twistzz now IGLing.
As for surprise packages, watch out for Cloud9 and GamerLegion. Cloud9 are a brand-new roster, adding ICY, HeavyGod, and interz, and with that comes a sense of unpredictability on the server. This makes them a danger for anyone to face. Meanwhile, GamerLegion are one of the youngest squads in the Tier 1 scene. The recent addition of ztr as IGL only added to this, and with youth comes a lack of fear. We could definitely see GamerLegion ruining someone’s day in Group B.
