Southeast Asian Dota 2 fans rejoice! ESL announces the ESL One Bangkok 2024 happening from Dec. 9 to Dec. 15, 2024.
It’s the country’s first event by ESL FACEIT group, but it’s particularly exciting for fans because many TI13 teams might be participating.

The tickets are available for purchase as early as Sept. 5 according to ESL One Bangkok’s announcement.
Officially, the event schedule is from Dec. 13 to Dec. 15, 2024, which is likely the Main Stage days, when only Playoffs occurs.
Whereas the Group Stage will likely take place online in the teams’ hotel rooms, which we will only be able to watch on ESL One’s official Twitch stream. The Group Stage will likely span for 3 days based on past ESL events, so that’s probably from Dec. 9 to Dec. 12, 2024 with a break day before Playoffs.
The ESL One Bangkok 2024 features a standard tournament format, comprising of Group Stage and Playoffs. Two round-robin groups of six teams will play best-of-two series among each other. The top two seeds in each group will advance to Playoffs’ Upper Bracket, while the third and fourth-place teams advance to Lower Bracket. Whereas the bottom two seeds are eliminated from ESL One Bangkok 2024.
The remaining four teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket in the Playoffs. All matches are best-of-three, except the Grand Finals being a best-of-five.

There will be twelve participating teams at ESL One Bangkok 2024, none of which has been announced. However, we can make an educated guess on potential teams coming to Bangkok, based on the previous ESL Pro Tour (EPT) Leaderboard.
Beforehand, it’s important to note that ESL One Bangkok 2024 will be the first EPT event of the 2024-2025 season. Hence, EPT points are also at stake alongside the million-dollar prize pool. Any rational team will want to get an early head-start in securing points.
Starting off with one of the strongest teams on the previous EPT Leaderboard, Team Falcons will likely be making their way to ESL One Bangkok 2024. Besides coming into the new season as defending champions, Falcons also has a good record of not missing any major tournaments.
Gaimin Gladiators‘ Twitter page has also indicated about their participation at ESL One Bangkok 2024. Additionally, we would also count BetBoom Team, Team Liquid, Xtreme Gaming, Tundra Esports in, as well.
Then, there’s Team Spirit, which has a tendency to take breaks after TI, so they might just withdraw from ESL One Bangkok 2024 despite securing direct invite.

The power rankings will have insight from the teams’ performance at TI13, so that will be an interesting analysis for sure.
