The FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1 will span from January 24 till February 2, when the group stage and playoffs will take place.

Tournament Format at FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1

The FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1 will comprise of the standard group stage and playoffs between sixteen teams. The group stage is one modified swiss-system between the sixteen teams. where advancing or elimination matches are best-of-three, while all other matches are best-of-one. Top eight teams will advance to playoffs, while the rest are eliminated.

The Playoffs are the classic double-elimination bracket, where matches are best-of-three, except the best-of-five grand finals.

Speaking of Dota 2 teams, eleven teams received a direct invite to the coveted FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1 tournament, which is many compared to other major tournaments.

Nevertheless, that’s splendid news for us as we eagerly await some of the most intense Dota 2 actions from these powerhouses. These include BetBoom Team, PARIVISION, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming, Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra Esports, Aurora Gaming, Shopify Rebellion, and HEROIC.

Additionally, five other teams qualified regionally, such as:

  • AVULUS (Western Europe)
  • Chimera Esports (Eastern Europe)
  • Yakult’s Brothers (China)
  • Talon Esports (Southeast Asia)
  • Wildcard (Americas)

Surprisingly, even the regional teams are looking very strong, especially AVULUS and Yakult’s Brothers. Both teams featured strong, formidable players, which will surely spice the competition up at FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1.

Amongst the participating teams, there are several teams that we should keep an eye on for sure. Notably, teams like Team Falcons, BetBoom Team and Team Liquid are the fan favorites.

However, PARIVISION should also be on everyone’s radar, especially after they replaced Remco “Crystallis” Arets. The former player won ESL One Bangkok 2024 with PARIVISION, so the roster change came as a surprise.

Then, there’s the return of Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk back in Team Spirit, which is a highly-anticipated debut at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1.
