It’s time to jump back into the action as tournament organizer FISSURE brings the fourth season of its FISSURE Universe series of events back this coming March.
Despite featuring a relatively modest $500,000 prize pool, FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 has invited many top-tier teams for their event, making this an tournament you don’t want to miss.

FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 Tournament Format
An amazing feature that sets FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 apart from other tournament formats is the modified swiss-system of sixteen teams. Each team will play best-of-one matches, but advancing or elimination matches are best-of-three.
In the past, we have seen how such format made group stage much more intense due to the higher stakes of elimination, since only the top eight Dota 2 teams make it to the Playoffs, while the rest are eliminated.
In the Playoffs, it’s the familiar double-elimination bracket we know and love, where all matches are best-of-three, except the nail-biting best-of-five grand final.
Participating Teams at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4
FISSURE invited several staples to the FISSURE Universe: Episode 4, such as PARIVISION, BetBoom Team, Team Liquid, Aurora Gaming and many more. Meanwhile, there are also teams that qualified regionally, such as:
- Night Pulse (Western Europe)
- Gaimin Gladiators (Western Europe)
- 1 win Team (Eastern Europe)
- One Move (Eastern Europe)
- Team Tidebound (China)
- BOOM Esports (Southeast Asia)
- Wildcard (North America)
- M80 (South America)
It’s quite shocking to see Gaimin Gladiators having to compete in the regional qualifier to earn their spot at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4, when most tournaments have directly invited Gaimin. Nevertheless, they still managed to qualify, although losing to a newcomer, Night Pulse.

Unexpected appearances at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4
After the release of their roster last month, Aurora Gaming finally announced their new Dota 2 line-up, although an Eastern European one was certainly not what we expected, let alone seeing former Team Spirit teammates Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov and Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek back together. It’s the ultimate throwback line-up to the good Team Spirit at International 10 days, where these two made history together.
Alongside these TI Champions are exceptional prodigies, Egor “Nightfall ” Grigorenko and Gleb “kiyotaka” Zyryanov, making this a solid roster.
Favorites at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4
The recent abundance of strong Eastern European teams has made betting on teams, like PARIVISION , BetBoom Team and even Aurora Gaming, a decent choice. They are certainly favorites going into FISSURE Universe: Episode 4, for sure.
While unconfirmed, Tundra Esports and Team Falcons are also fan favorites that are considerably stronger if they were to play at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4.
Honorable Mentions
Last but not least, there are also several interesting teams to feature at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4. Notably, M80, which acquired beastcoast, has a decent roster that can rally up the South American fans. This is made even better since the legendary Héctor “K1” Rodríguez will be competing for M80 too.
Wildcard has been a staple as the North American representative, so it’s nice to have a consistent team in the making for most major tournaments. And we can say the same for Team Tidebound, which is representing China and upsetting bigger players from the scene.
With that, the FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 is as interesting as it gets, especially with these Dota 2 teams participating.
