Honor of Kings is getting a new year-end tournament, and it’s called the Honor of Kings Championship with its first edition set to begin soon. The new global tournament doesn’t feature teams from China and only has competition from other regions.
The likely reason behind the introduction of the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 as a standout international tournament without China could be because of the skill gap. China saw the release of Honor of Kings years ago and has a developed esports scene for the title. As a result, Chinese teams have been dominating any cross-region international tournament until now.
The Honor of Kings Championship 2024, the inaugural edition of this tournament, is set to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia from Oct. 12 to 27 with $1 million on the line. Here’s everything you need to know about the KC 2024.

The tournament will happen across a group stage (Oct. 12 to 17) and the Knockout Stage (Oct. 18 to 26) followed by the grand finals on Oct. 27.
For the Group Stage, the 16 teams have been split into four even groups. Each group will compete in a single round-robin best-of-three format with the top two teams advancing to the Knockout Stage.
The Knockout Stage will follow a double-elimination bracket with every match, except for the grand finals, being a best-of-five. The Grand Finals will follow a best-of-seven format.
