According to Danny Koo, the Executive Producer of Marvel Games, the tournament will be hybrid. This means the event will have both an online and a LAN phase. The tournament is slated to begin in May 2025.

Marvel Rivals Ignite will take place from May to November. The tournament will consist of the following phases:

  • Ignite Stage 1 (May-July)
  • Mid-Season Finals (July)
  • Ignite Stage Two (August- October)
  • Grand Finals (November)

Teams must qualify through in-game qualifiers to participate in the group stage of Ignite Stage 1. The top teams from the Marvel Rivals Invitational and Marvel Rivals Championships will receive a direct invite to Stage 1. Ignite Stage 1 in-game qualifiers will be divided into two splits:

The Mid-Season Finals will take place in July. The tournament will have a total prize pool of $500,000. Top Teams from Mavel Rivals Championship Season 2 and the in-game qualifiers will have a chance to qualify for Ignite Stage Two. Teams that finish in the top half of Ignite Stage 1 will receive a direct invite to Ignite Stage 2.

Grand Finals

Finally, in the last phase, teams from all 5 regions will battle in the Grand Finals in November. Teams that qualify for Ignite Stage Two stand a chance of qualification in the Grand Finals. The Marvel Rivals Ignite Grand Finals will have a prize pool of $1 million.

During the most recent Marvel Rivals Invitational, we saw two different tournament formats based on the number of teams. The tournaments with four teams consisted of just a double-bracket format, whereas the 8-team tournament consisted of a Swiss stage and a playoff stage.
