Skyesports Championship 2024 format & teams

The Skyesports Championship 2024 begins with a Group Stage featuring six teams in each Group. Then, it moves to a standard single-elimination Playoffs bracket with the following ruleset:

  • Group Stage:
    • Two round-robin format groups
      • Each group has 6 teams
      • All matches are best-of-one
    • The top three teams from each group move on to the Playoffs:
      • Group stage winners move on to the Semifinals
      • Group stage runners-up move on to the Quarterfinals as High Seeds
      • Group stage 3rd place teams move on to the Quarterfinals as Low Seeds
  • Playoffs:
    • Single-Elimination bracket
    • All matches are best-of-three

One important change to note over the Skyesports Masters 2024 is that this time around, the Grand Final will be a best-of-three again, as opposed to the best-of-five used last time out.

Skyesports Championship 2024 predictions

Looking at the teams involved in the Skyesports Championship 2024, a few names stand out as immediate favorites. ENCE, The MongolZ, BLEED, and Eternal Fire are the biggest names, and will be central to our predictions here. Let’s begin with ENCE and Eternal Fire. Both have struggled to get firing of late, and they’ll need to step up their form if they’re to make it out of the punishing Group Stage best-of-one format. While they’re still among the tournament favorites, we wouldn’t necessarily be putting our money where our mouth is with these two.

Our big favorites for the event are The MongolZ and BLEED. The MongolZ have won a few events of late of this stature, including YaLLa Compass 2024. They’ve got experience getting over the line in tournaments like this. While they’ve had a few tough events post-player break, we’re backing them to get back on track in Mumbai. Coming to BLEED, kassad is cooking with this roster. He has smartly upgraded his pieces on a budget when possible, and now boasts a roster featured jkaem, nawkk, and nexa. They wouldn’t look out of place in Tier 1, which is why they can do some serious damage at this event.
