Our Vie.gg review - Esports betting exchange sites
Welcome to our Vie.gg review where we will take a detailed look at how this betting site aims to supercharge your esports bets. Whilst there are plenty of bookmakers out there who allow you to bet on esports in a traditional way, Vie.gg are a little different as they are one of the latest esports betting exchange sites to hit the scene. This means that you will be betting on esports against other gaming fans, rather than against the bookmaker.
Vie.gg hasn’t been around too long, as they were only launched by their parent company, Esports Entertainment Company, in March 2018. But since then the Vie.gg betting exchange has quickly grown to be a real sensation on the competitive gaming scene. Unfortunately, it looks like players from the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany and the USA cannot legally use the Vie.gg betting exchange just yet. But if the brand keeps growing at this rate, we can expect to see it become a big hit in the European esports betting realm. So be sure to read our Vie.gg review to find out more about this very promising brand.
Interface & Design
Whilst the concept of betting on esports against other gamers might be fairly unusual, we were glad to see that the Vie.gg betting exchange is well designed and makes it remarkably easy to place a bet on your favourite game.
Loading up the Vie.gg site reveals a homepage that shows off the brand’s welcome bonus, and then you just have to click on the Exchange icon to see all of the upcoming esports to wager on. There is also a handy navigation bar down the left of the screen that allows you to find your preferred esport, and to place your bets you just need to click on the odds for your chosen gaming event. This will allow you to adjust the odds and enter your stake, and then you just need to wait for another gamer to take you up on your odds.
The odds are displayed in a decimal format which might prove problematic for those used to fractional odds as there doesn’t appear to be any way to alter the format. However, everything else seems to be well put together with things like logging in and accessing customer support only a click away. Sadly it doesn’t look like there is a Vie.gg app, but the site worked fine on a mobile device.

Like many other betting sites, the Vie.gg betting exchange has put on a special offer for new customers. This comes in the form of a losing bet refund that can give you up to €20 if your first esports bet at the site lets you down. But like all promotions, the Vie.gg bonus has some important terms and conditions attached that deserve a closer look.
Our Vie.gg review found that this bonus is only available for brand new customers who place their first bet. In addition to this, you must make a deposit within your first seven days of signing up to the site. Once you do this, then your first esports bet of €20 or more will trigger the welcome bonus. If your esports bet wins, you get your winnings as normal, but if you lose then you will be refunded to the equivalent of your losing bet up to €20.
The refund will be granted in the form of extra bet tokens that must be used on odds of up to 3.50 within 14 days of your qualifying bet being settled. If you win with these extra bets, then you must wager the winnings at least four times before you can claim your boosted profits, although you cannot withdraw the actual bonus itself. Terms and conditions apply, 18+.

Our Vie.gg review found that this betting site offers you plenty of different ways to fund your esports bets. The brand permit payments with credit and debit cards like Visa and MasterCard, e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller, as well as alternative payment methods like Paysafecard, Ecopayz, and their FAQ also briefly mentions PayPal.
It looks like the Vie.gg betting exchange won’t charge you any money for making deposits and withdrawals. Deposits can be made from between €5 and €1,000 at a time, although credit card deposits must be made from €50 upwards. However, we found that Vie.gg have a fairly high minimum withdrawal threshold of €50, although they do allow you to withdraw up to €10,000 at a time. Both of the deposit and withdrawal methods are easy to carry out as you just have to head into the My Account area, click on Player and then deposit or withdraw.

Vie.gg take great pride in allowing you to wager on a vast range of esports. Pride of place is given to the big-hitters like Counter Strike Global Offensive, League of Legends and Overwatch, but we were also impressed to see how the brand also cover plenty more niche esports.
As long as there are other gamers out there to take your bets, Vie.gg allows you to make bets on esports like Call of Duty, Artifact, Dota 2, Hearthstone, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, Starcraft 2, Street Fighter V and even Tekken.
Unfortunately, it looks like Vie.gg only allow you to make bets on the match winner, but that’s just part of the deal of using a betting exchange. The key thing to remember is that you will be betting against other punters, so if you don’t see any decent odds for your favourite esport here, then it’s up to you to create the odds that other gamers will want to bet against you on.
All gamers know that there’s nothing like live streaming for the best way to experience esports. If you want to bet live on esports in real-time, then live streaming is even more important as it means that you get an extra degree of accuracy with your in-play bets.
Sadly it looks like Vie.gg don’t have any kind of live streaming in the in-play betting service just yet. This is a bit of shame, but there’s nothing stopping you opening up a Twitch live stream in another browser window and then adjusting your betting strategies accordingly. Hopefully, Vie.gg will work on this important feature in the future, but for the moment it looks like this betting site are just focusing on allowing you to trade bets with other gamers.

Whilst the Vie.gg site is pretty easy to get used to, the brand have put on a couple of very helpful videos that can quickly get you up to speed with the concept of esports betting exchanges. If you need any further help with the Vie.gg betting exchange, then the brand can be reached via their live chat and email support options.
It looked the live chat wasn’t operational when we carried out this Vie.gg review, but the feature stated that a customer service representative would be back in 30 minutes. However, we were glad to find that Vie.gg had included a couple of helpful FAQ and Help areas on their website that clearly outlined everything to do with setting up your account and moving your money around. In addition to this, it looks like Vie.gg have active social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so you have plenty of ways to get in touch.
As Vie.gg have only been around since early 2018, then you will probably be wondering how safe the betting exchange is. As a result, we took a close look at the brand’s licensing and saw that Vie.gg are regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and have a Curacao license. This doesn’t offer quite the same level of protection as a UK Gambling Commission license, but shows that the brand have taken steps to ensure that they are serious about offering a safe and fair esports betting service.
We were also glad to find that Vie.gg have implemented a strict verification procedure so that you have to provide some kind of identification when signing up. This means that only those of legal age can use the esports betting service. Just in case you need to keep your wagering under control, then Vie.gg have teamed up with responsible gambling organisations such as GamCare so that you can get help in setting up a self-exclusion option. In addition to this, we were also pleased to find that Vie.gg’s site offers full https encryption to keep your data perfectly secure.
Vie.gg appear to have made a promising start in providing gamers with a great way to bet on a wide range of esports. Whilst there is nothing wrong with betting on esports in a conventional way, by being able to set your own esports odds, it means that you have plenty more flexibility in getting some decent profits.
However, there were still a few things to be worked on. Obviously, the fact that Vie.gg cannot be accessed by gamers in countries such as the UK is a problem, but hopefully this situation will improve in the future. We would also like to see Vie.gg make more of an effort to lower their minimum withdrawal limits, implement some kind of live streaming, and even develop their own betting app for use on a mobile device.
But on the whole, we were impressed with what we saw at Vie.gg. So if you want a brand new way to bet on your favourite esport, then Vie.gg could be well worth a try.
