EA Reveals Battlefield Redsec Elite Series as $1m Esports Circuit Announced
EA has announced the first official competitive circuit for its battle royale hit Battlefield Redsec, unveiling the Elite Series and Open Series, both of which are scheduled to begin in December 2025.
Even ahead of Redsec’s launch in October 2025, there were rumors in the esports world that it would be taking competitive play more seriously, with a number of Call of Duty: Warzone pros in particular pre-empting a switch to the new title should they enjoy it.
Announcing the tournaments on November 20, EA claimed that “these initiatives represent the first steps toward a long-term competitive environment for the franchise, built in partnership with the community.”
Battlefield Redsec Elite Series
The Battlefield Redsec Elite Series begins on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 until Tuesday, December 16.
Each region’s competition structure includes six Battle Royale matches, followed by a Gauntlet elimination round for the top eight squads. This competitive version of Gauntlet uses specific map and mode combinations along with extended round timers.
The format repeats across three Qualifying Match Days, with squads earning Elite Series Points that determine advancement. The top 25 squads in each region will qualify for the Season Finals, taking place on December 18, 2025.
So, Season 1 of the Elite Series is as follows:
- Match Day #1 – Wednesday, December 10, 2025
- Match Day #2 – Thursday, December 11, 2025
- Match Day #3 – Tuesday, December 16, 2025
- Season Finals – Thursday, December 18, 2025
The competition spans the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, featuring more than $1 million in total prizing for its opening season. EA has pre-vetted 50 team captains per region, who will draft their own squads of four players, creating 150 teams globally.
Prize pools differ by region. The Americas will award $50,000 on each Qualifying Match Day and $500,000 USD during the Finals Gauntlet.
The EMEA and APAC regions will each feature a $20,000 prize for Qualifiers and $285,000 for their respective Finals. Some players have already announced their full squads.
Battlefield Redsec Open Series
Alongside the Elite Series, EA is launching the REDSEC Open Series on Friday, December 12, 2025. This community competition is open to all squads across the same three regions. Teams can register through Repeat.gg.
Scoring is determined by a squad’s 10 best Battle Royale and 10 best Gauntlet games across the season’s three competition days.
The top 250 Open Series squads per region will advance to the Season Finals on January 17, 2026. From there, the top eight teams in each region will qualify for the next season of the Elite Series. A $30,000 USD prize pool, split evenly across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, will be awarded to top-performing Open Series squads.
Open Series match days are as follows:
- Match Day #1 – Friday, December 12, 2025
- Match Day #2 – Friday, December 19, 2025
- Match Day #3 – Friday, January 9, 2026
- Season Finals – Saturday, January 17, 2026
They want to test additional formats, explore community-requested features such as spectator tools and custom lobbies, and continue both tournament circuits into future seasons based on player feedback.
