Teams have now had plenty of time to adapt to Counter-Strike 2, with a new order establishing itself. It was FaZe who dominated the opening months of the game, but in the time since, it hasn’t been so simple. We’re taking a look at the best CS2 teams in 2025, ranking the top 10 based on who we think has impressed the most so far.

Well, it’s getting slightly better, I guess. Team Liquid have fully bought into the idea of Twistzz as IGL, and it’s an idea it doesn’t seem to be abandoning as we head into the busiest period of the 2025 CS2 calendar. Personally, I think it’s a waste of one of the game’s most talented riflers.
Team Liquid is an organization with the biggest of ambitions but right now, they look a far cry away from a team capable of challenging for trophies. This is showing in results, too, with the team failing to go beyond Quarter-Finals in any event of late.

After buying NiKo and the Heroic core of TeSeS, degster, and kyxsan, it’s hard to deny that Falcons have massively improved. That said, they’re still nowhere near the dominant powerhouse they desperately want to be.
For the second year running, it feels like Falcons are waiting for other pieces to become the finished article. Rumors have long swirled about m0NESY coming to Falcons, so it’s hard to get invested in the team knowing change could still be around the corner.

It’s been a very long time since you’d consider FaZe Clan to be the 8th best CS2 team in the world. They haven’t won an event since IEM Chengdu 2024, and losing ropz to bring in EliGE for the 2025 season only seems to have made them more unbalanced.
Right now, I think this lineup has until after the BLAST Austin Major to get itself in better shape as one of the best CS2 teams in the world. It’s hard to see an organization like FaZe Clan putting up with mediocrity for too long.

Eternal Fire are a team that always seem to be getting better, but never good enough to get over the finish line at an event. In 2025, they’ve certainly been among the best CS2 teams, reaching the Final of BLAST Bounty after replacing Calyx with young talent jottAAA.
The transfer itself has largely gone well for the team, and XANTARES has kicked off the first few months of 2025 in epic form. Until they actually win a LAN event though, there will be some question marks about Eternal Fire.

Losing a player like NiKo has gone about as well as you would expect for G2: not well. They slide to sixth place in this list of the best CS2 teams, and you could argue they’re being single-handedly kept relevant by the brilliance of m0NESY at the moment.
HeavyGod has been naturally inconsistent, and malbsMd doesn’t quite offer the same star power in NiKo’s roles. And Snax… well, it’s just not really working, is it? If things stay like this, it’s going to be a quiet 2025 for G2.

After becoming CS2 Major winners and arguably the best CS2 team in the world throughout 2024, NAVI have shown why even the top rosters struggle eventually. 2025 hasn’t gone to plan for the team, who individually all look a level below where they were last year.
The solution isn’t simple (or s1mple, for that matter). They may have to make some tough decisions about their Major-winning team if they’re to get back to winning trophies, else they risk sliding further down the pecking order.

The MongolZ just get better and better. They’re a little like Eternal Fire in that they haven’t managed to actually get over the line and win a CS2 tournament yet, but The MongolZ have just shown so much consistency of late.
They’re already the pride of Asian Counter-Strike and firmly cemented as one of the best CS2 teams in the world, but I only see The MongolZ getting better. At the time of writing, the team has an average age of 20.5. With time and experience, this can be one dominant Counter-Strike team.

MOUZ‘s 2025 started with the shock benching of siuhy, and the decision to bring in Spinx and make Brollan IGL. Just about everyone was against the decision, but it has gone pretty well so far.
They won PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 in Brollan’s first event as IGL, and then they followed it up with another Grand Final appearance at ESL Pro League Season 21. The signs are good that MOUZ will spend 2025 in and around the best CS2 teams in the world. They just need to raise their ceiling a little, but this can come as their new IGL settles into his role further.

After winning the Major to end 2024, it looked like Spirit could be set for a period of dominance in Counter-Strike. It hasn’t quite panned out that way in the first few months of 2025, but they still look pretty great.
Inconsistency knocks this Spirit team off the top spot. They’re too reliant on being carried by donk – if he isn’t feeling it, there’s pretty much no way for Spirit to win. Luckily, he’s great 95% of the time, but that 5% he doesn’t get the help he needs can be enough to knock them out of a tournament.

Where has this Vitality come from?! After picking up ropz in the off-season, Vitality all of a sudden have the makings of a dominant super-team, to the point where it’s hard to envisage a team beating them right now. IEM Katowice and ESL Pro League winners in 2025 so far, it’s set to be a silverware-laden year for this roster.
For Vitality, there just seems to be no weak link. Even mezii and apEX have found individual form in their roles, and with ZywOo seemingly finding a new high to his already massive ceiling, it’s going to take some doing to dethrone Vitality as the best CS2 team in the world.
