The Esports World Cup 2024 CS2 tournament is just a few days away. The best CS2 teams from around the world have descended upon Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a bid to crown themselves the Kings of the Counter-Strike scene. With 15 teams taking part, we’ve put together our EWC 2024 CS2 power rankings, to see who has the best chance of emerging victorious in Riyadh.

EWC 2024 CS2 Favorites

Looking at the teams attending the EWC 2024 CS2 tournament, it’s difficult to look past Spirit as the winners. Just before the player break, they put themselves back at the top of the pile by winning the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, and we expect them to come out firing on all cylinders in the second half of the year. They’ll be disappointed they didn’t win more in the first half of 2024, but we think they’ll rectify that at the EWC 2024.

Next up, it’s MOUZ. They’ve (mostly) improved with each passing tournament in 2024, and at one point looked like the best CS2 team in the world. We have them down as runners-up in our power rankings – there’s every chance they can win in Riyadh. Stage nerves seem to be a thing of the past for this MOUZ roster, giving them a chance in any tournament.

Our third favorite is FaZe Clan. The early 2024 season was massively disappointing for the team, with only an IEM Chengdu 2024 win to show for numerous Grand Final appearances. They’ll come to the EWC 2024 CS2 event with a point to prove, and we expect they’ll want to do some damage in their first outing since the end of the player break.

EWC 2024 CS2 Underdogs

We’ve looked at favorites, but who could be poised to make a shock at the EWC 2024 CS2 event? Our first big underdog is G2. The reason we’ve got them as low as 7th place is, ironically, the same reason they could upset the odds. With malbsMd and Snax joining the team, we have absolutely no idea what to expect from G2. A honeymoon in Riyadh is definitely on the cards, making the Esports World Cup 2024 CS2 event a great opportunity for the new-look roster.

Our other underdog to look out for is TheMongolZ. They’ve taken a massive step up of late, including an impressive win at YaLLa Compass 2024. The Esports World Cup 2024 CS2 event will be their first Tier 1 matches back from the player break, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can continue their rise after the halt in momentum.
