Problem Secures Final Slot at Capcom Cup X
This weekend the biggest event of the year for fighting games begin, the Capcom Cup x. The first round of this closing tournament was the Capcom Cup X Last Chance Qualifier, where players competed for the final slot up for grabs in the tournament. In the end, we’ve seen Problem X rise above the competition to get his slot confirmed for the final. How did he do it?
Problem X Wins Place at Capcom Cup X
The Capcom Cup X Last Chance Qualifier was more than just a last shot at the final. Thanks to the winner takes it all nature of the qualifiers so far, some amazing players were still trying to secure their spot. This included some huge names like Punk and Tokido. One of the standouts across the tournaments itself though was Problem X, showcasing how far he’s come with the latest Street Fighter game.
In the winners side of the Final bracket, we had four match ups with most of the top players in the game. Punk, Tokido, and JB all pushed through this stage to the Semis. Problem X began his run in the final match in this section, just edging ahead of Julio Fuentes. This put him up against JB in the second round, where a more definitive win was recorded at 3-1.

The Final
In the Winners Final for the Capcom Cup X Last Chance Qualifier, Problem X faced Punk, perhaps the biggest obstacle to qualifying. In this first match, Punk had a clear victory 3-0. This wasn’t the end for Problem X though. The player once again faced JB in the Losers Final, and began to turn things back around. Here he won 3-0 before going on to once again face Punk.
Coming in from the losers’ bracket, Problem X had to win twice here. In the first set, he took a clean victory 3-1. After such a one-sided match last time around, this was a surprise. We got a bracket reset here, before Problem X repeated his feet and won 3-0.
Across their three games, Problem X completely turned the tables on Punk and solidified his place at the Capcom Cup X final. This impressive run definitely makes him a player worth watching at the final itself. If he can go all the way in the final, it would make his journey one for the record books.
Last Chance Qualifier Preview
The Capcom Cup X is the biggest event we’ve ever seen held for Street Fighter. The combatants have fought their way here through an entire year of competitive events, but there’s one more slot still open. That player will be decided at the Capcom Cup X Last Chance Qualifier.
This tournament is a final chance for some players to earn their spot. The qualification process has meant only the winners of events have moved forward, leaving some of the best Street Fighter 6 players still without a slot at the finale. What can we expect at this final tournament?

Capcom Cup X Last Chance Qualifier Format and More
The Capcom Cup X is an invitational tournament concluding the first year of competitive Street Fighter 6. Most of the players are already locked in, but a final chance remains for those who have failed to get their slot so far. The tournament is due to take place from Feb. 16 to 18. It’s an open qualifier, but some of the best players who only got runner-up in events are competing in one place.
The tournament is played in a familiar format. At first, there’s a wider pools round. That’s followed by a Bracket in a double-elimination format. Only the very highest-placing player will make it to the Capcom Cup though.
Who’s Playing?
The last chance qualifier is exactly what it sounds like, a final chance for players to get their slot at the Cup. As the biggest Street Fighter tournament we’ve seen, the stakes couldn’t be here. There are tons of players overall arriving and hoping to win at the Last Chance Qualifier. These are the players confirmed for the tournament.
