DreamHack Fighters Atlanta – Biggest Tournaments at Event

The DremHack series is back with one more event in 2023. For DreamHack Atlanta Fighters 2023, there’s going to be a decent spread of fighting games. We’ve seen these expand quite a bit, especially over the most recent 2023 instalments of the tournament series. What exactly is being featured at DreamHack Atlanta for fighting games though? Most of the biggest fighting games are getting dedicated tournaments, with some impressive prize pools too. These are the events we’re expecting over the 3-day event.

Street Fighter 6

Street fighter 6 Rashid

One of the biggest events for DreamHack Fighters Atlanta 2023 won’t be too big of a surprise, it’s Street Fighter 6. This has been one of the biggest games in every fighting game event so far. It makes sense to be an important tournament here. There’s a $5,000 prize pool here and some of the best Street Fighter 6 players are showing up like Punk and IDom.

Mortal Kombat

The next biggest release for 2023 is MK 1, which is also getting a big event here. There are over 100 players taking part to compete for part of the $3,000 prize pool here.

Tekken 7

The next tournament featured at DreamHack Fighters Atlanta 2023 is Tekken 7. This one is a tad smaller with a $2,000 prize pool. There are more than 100 players taking part though.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising has only just been released, with early access starting earlier this week. We’re getting a release window tournament here though. There’s a prize pool of $1,500 and we’ll get to see how the game plays in a competitive setting.

Smash Bros

Two different Smash Bros games will be featured at Atlanta! We’ll see impressive tournaments happening for both Melee and Ultimate.

Guilty Gear Strive

The final tournament for DreamHack Fighters Atlanta 2023 is Guilty Gear Strive. This is one of the best anime fighting games and always fun to see in these competitions. Here, we’ll see more than 100 players compete for a $1,500 prize pool.

Those are all of the games that we’ll see featured in DreamHack Fighters in Atlanta. This is our final event for 2023, so hopefully Fighters rounds off its biggest year so far with a bang.


DreamHack Gets Dedicated Ballroom for Fighters

The DreamHack series of events have always been huge for quite a few games, though they’ve become massive events in the world of fighting games. DreamHack Fighters Atlanta is a great example of this, a huge tournament with entries for tons of the biggest fighting games. As Fighters has expanded recently, we’re getting more events for the biggest games and a greater scope of fighters showing up at DreamHack. More recently, we’ve learnt about a huge ballroom expansion coming for the tournament grounds too.

DreamHack Atlanta Gets New Larger Ballroom

DreamHack has long been a highlight on the wider esports calendar with tons of giant tournaments. However, more recently it has become a much bigger part of the year for the fighting game community. DreamHack Fighters has picked up a lot of Steam this year with some major tournaments. The most recent news about DreamHack Atlanta Isn’t just a big tournament taking place though. It’s a big expansion to the footprint of fighting games at DreamHack Atlanta overall.

DreamHack Atlanta is getting a brand-new Ballroom. It is going to see a major space dedicated exclusively for fighting games. With tons of the best fighting games becoming some of the bigger hits over the year, the Fighters portion of DreamHack is getting space to represent becoming such a major draw.

DreamHack Atlanta gets New Ballroom

The new DreamHack Atlanta FGC Ballroom is giving players much more space to get into things for fighters. Having a dedicated space like this is a great showing of how important DreamHack Fighters is becoming. Far from being a more minor part of the tournament, it’s now getting a large ballroom entirely dedicated to it.

Alex Jebailey took to Twitter to show off the new ballroom. He’s a senior figure at DreamHack and has been a big part of this big expansion for DreamHack fighters. The ways have gone so far, it looks like fighters are only going to get more important for the tournament series.

DreamHack Fighters Atlanta

DreamHack Fighters Atalnta will be returning with the next instalment in the tournament series. Taking place over December 15-17th, we’ll see tons of the biggest fighting games getting played at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The event will likely be one of our final tournaments in 2023 for the majority of games being played.

A fighting game event is only really as big as its featured games. DreamHack Fighters Atlanta tries to represent a decent spread of titles from across different worlds of fighters. There are definitely some interesting picks on the roster this year.

It’s a fun line up. We’ve got some of the newest fighting games like MK 1 and SF 6, but also the soon-to-be-released GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising. With Melee on the roster though there are still some classic fighters showing up here too.

As we get closer to the tournament, we’ll see more details come out like which players are attending to take part in this tournament. These will be great closer events for 2023’s esports for quite a few of these games.
