GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising might be one of the most anticipated fighting games, but the title is getting a slight delay before we actually get our hands on it. A new announcement has been made about the GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising release date. Arc have said they need a bit more time to get the game perfect before release.
In a statement issued on Twitter, the developers have said the game’s release is being pushed back just a short while. This isn’t a major delay pushing things into 2024. However, it’ll add a few weeks.
The new GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising release date will be December 14th.
A new early access period will also begin on December 11th, so a lot of players will get a hands-on then. That’s when we’re expecting to see the new game release.
GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising is the next instalment in the fighting game spin-off franchise. It’s due to release in 2023, and we’ve learnt about the exact date recently. The GBFV Rising release date was originally November 30th 2023, but its now delayed until December 11th.
It’s going to be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam. Developers Arc System Works revealed the full Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising release date during EVO 2023, right before the original crossed 1 million sales. Even past that eventual release date, it’ll likely take a couple of years for all of the DLC characters to come to the game.

Rollback netcode for this fighting game is very likely, so we’ll probably have considerably smoother online from the title. There’s also a secondary control system here too. The new game is going to be updating its crossplay, to allow more people to play together across platforms. There will also be an updated combo triple attack, and dash attacks added. Each of the GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising characters will have updated moves to fit these new mechanics in the game.
We don’t have too long to wait until the GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising release date. There are still a lot of unknowns about this game though. Hopefully, we’ll get more information soon like some more of the characters revealed or potentially even a demo to stress test the game before release.
