Registration Extended for EVO Japan 2024

The fighting game calendar has been a lot busier this year with major circuits keeping important tournaments running year-round. The EVO events for many are still the absolute highlights, though, bigger than circuits like the Capcom Cup. The EVO Japan 2024 tournament looks set to be one of the biggest yet, cementing the series’ spot as a highlight of the year after its return in 2023.

We’re beginning to get quite a few more details about EVO Japan 2024 and how it’s going to work. Now, registrations have opened, and competitors can begin to sign up for the tournament in the Evolution Championship Series.

EVO Japan Gives Full Sign-Up Numbers

In the lead up to EVO Japan, we’ve seen the date for registration get pushed back to allow more players to get involved. Now we’re getting closer to the event, we’ve got a good idea of how popular each of the titles are. The new registration numbers for EVO Japan have shown us which of the titles we can expect to be the most popular at the tournament.

We’ve already hard about one stand out so far, Tekken 8 at EVO Japan. That’s setting new records for the franchise. It’s not too big of a surprise that it isn’t in the lead though. The most popular fighting game of the last year has kept its top spot in sign ups. Street Fighter 6s is by far at the top of the list, with more than 4,000 sign ups. Next is Tekken with more than 1,200.

In third for EVO Japan 2024 is Guilty Gear Strive. While that’s an older title, numbers like this show interest isn’t going anyway in the game. Even more niche newer titles are performing well like Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising with more than 700 sign ups.

EVO Japan Registration Extended Until End of the Month

EVO Japan is getting a lot closer. We can now really start to dig into what we can expect at the tournament. First though, organizers have opened up registration for a longer period. Players have had their deadline extended meaning we’ll be getting even more chances to sign up. This should ensure even more of the top players make it to the event.

So far, EVO Japan 2024 has had incredible registration numbers. In particular, Street Fighter 6 is absolutely dominating. The SF 6 EVO Japan tournament already has massively overtaken everything else in sign-ups with thousands of hopefuls attending. We’ll likely see even more players lock in their places as we get closer to the new deadline.

The fresh deadline for EVO Japan registration is now March 29th. Players have until then to register their details and make sure they can enter any tournaments at the event.


EVO Japan 2024 Registration Opens Up

With more of the line-up now announced, registrations for EVO Japan 2024 have just been opened. Those looking to take part can go through the registration system to secure their spot and compete. Currently, there are two types of tickets available. Additionally, the Spectator tickets are now available too, starting at about $17 for a single day.

Those looking to compete in the EVO Japan can begin to sign up. EVO events in recent years have seen record sign-ups and we expect something similar for this tournament as well. Anyone hoping to travel to take part can sign up now and secure their spots. What games will be featured here though?

Registrations are now open, but what titles will be a part of EVO Japan? As this is the Japanese side of things, there will be a different selection of games than the western EVO. These are the titles we know will be featured at the event.

Those are the mainstage games announced so far. There are some interesting picks in here like the brand new Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising and the 3rd Street Fighter for a retro pick. It’s great to see such a mix of new titles and some of the best fighting games of all time at EVO Japan.
