Is There MultiVersus Split Screen Multiplayer Modes?
Is MultiVersus split screen? This is a fighting game with quite a lot for multiple players to do. While a lot of titles focus on the single-player experience, MultiVersus has a decent offering for groups. Particularly Duos, which is arguably the better way to play the platform fighter. How can you actually play split screen though?
MultiVersus does have better offerings for Duos. Even the best MultiVersus characters can work well in pairs rather than solo. However, split screen is a bit more complicated. The game is still lacking quite a bit of offline capabilities, as is fairly standard with online live service titles. Are there options for playing in the same room?

Is MultiVersus Split Screen?
MultiVersus does have some potential for split screen. You can play offline games with other players, going up to four characters in total. This is how you can set it up:
- Select Versus game mode
- Select Other, then Local
- Connect the second controller
This will let you play in a local game with other players. You can use different settings to set up the game exactly as you want to play.
MultiVersus isn’t quite split screen though. Since it’s a fighter, you don’t really need to split the stage in half. You can actually just play normally and everyone can see what they need to. So, while there isn’t split screen, there is local co-op. It won’t affect your performance, but it isn’t available for MultiVersus Ranked anyway.

Can You Play Multiplayer Online with Split Screen?
MultiVersus has local co-op for local games, but what about online? Playing against other real opponents online is the bulk of gameplay in the title. However, that isn’t as easily accessible for local co-op enthusiasts.
While the game offers a Duos mode, this doesn’t work with local co-op. There isn’t MultiVersus split screen for playing Duos online. You have to pair up with others by going through friends on MultiVersus. Duos can’t compete together from the same device.
It’s frustrating not to be able to play Duos online with MultiVersus split screen. However, there are options for local play still. You can use local matches to hone your skills and try out new MultiVersus characters, even if you can’t head online.
