What is Aimbot in Fortnite?

What is Aimbot Fortnite? Using aimbot is something that gets discussed a lot in competitive gaming, but it isn’t quite as common in Fortnite as in other games. At least, not in all modes. Aimbot Fortnite is a term we use for some third-party software, which aims for you. Letting players just instantly beam enemies. Essentially, cheating.

A lot of players seek to cheat in Fortnite, but it is completely against the rules to use Aimbot. The software has always been banned in the game, and at various times Epic’s done a decent job of keeping most players’ experience completely free of it. However, that doesn’t stop software manufacturers trying. There are plenty of incentives to try and get around the bans, from money to be made selling the hacks, or from directly taking part in Fortnite tournaments. What is Aimbot Fortnite and how common is it in the game?

Aimbot Fortnite – What is it?

An Aimbot in any game, is a bot that aims for you At least that’s why it’s named that way. It’s basically just software that allows you to automatically shoot players. Aimbot Fortnite isn’t allowed, you can’t use any outside software to get an advantage. While players try to find loopholes, they’ll eventually be detected and banned. We’ve seen even high-profile players banned for using aimbot.

An aimbot goes completely against the fun of the game, taking actual performance and skill out of the equation. While you can use software like custom crosshairs in Fortnite without really changing the game, aimbot is a cheat that only ruins the game for those in that lobby. It’s obvious why it’s banned, but why do you still see it in-game?

Why Do You Still See Aimbot?

Going onto Fortnite in social media, you’ll likely eventually stumble on a showcase of aimbot. A player seemingly live, using an aimbot, with a link selling the software. These streams are notorious and they’re not even always real. The streams are often recorded once and looped long after the tool for sale and account have been beaten and banned from use in the game. As long as it’s running on the current Fortnite season, most viewers won’t notice.

The other major way players encounter aimbot cheats in the game is in tournaments. Towards the end of last year, this became a significant problem, especially in Zero Builds Cash Cups. In response to all of this Epic has made bigger moves to cut out Fortnite cheats.

Including taking legal action against them directly. Over Chapter 6, harsher regulations have made cheating in Fortnite esports events a lot less common. It’s still an ongoing battle though, hopefully, eventually, there won’t be any aimbot Fortnite players ruining these tournaments for the proper competitors.

Aim Assist vs Aimbot – What’s the Difference?

Best Wireless Controllers for Gaming

A common question with Aimbot in Fortnite is often with Aim Assist. Is giving controller players a form of aim help the same thing? Aim assist isn’t the same thing as an aim bot though.

A controller has a much less precise form of aiming. Aim assist helps to even the gap between mouse and keyboard or controller, but not by that much. Joysticks make it harder to track a player compared to just clicking on them, so Aim Assist helps a bit. Mouse and keyboard are still significantly better for aiming in Fortnite than using a controller, even with aim assist. Some players persist with controller because of its benefits for building in Fortnite, not because of aim assist. At least not since Chapter 2’s brief period of broken aim assist.

Aimbot in Fortnite is completely different, it auto aims for you. It takes the task away from a player’s skills entirely. Aim bot is a form of cheating, whereas aim assist is just a feature in the game.
