5 Best Fortnite Landing Spots in Chapter 5 Season 3
Where you drop in Fortnite might be your single biggest decision at the start of the game! The best Chapter 5 Season 3 Fortnite landing spots can offer a lot more than just landing at some random chest. The loot isn’t evenly distributed right now.
The top landing spots in Fortnite offer Chapter 5 Mythic weapons, plus the medallions, and now the boss cars. These are heavily OP guns, and cars that are borderline invincible. The stuff you get at some spots are way better than what you’ll find in other POIs.
Plus, there’s the factor of different areas having more chest spawns than others. If you want to balance loot and cars with the fights you’ll find at spots, there are some clear picks to head to.
Best Chapter 5 Season 3 Fortnite Landing Spots
The Convoy

One of the best Fortnite landing spots this season isn’t even somewhere we can point out on a map. It’s a car that drives around.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has added a new boss who often drives around in a convoy instead of at a POI. On the map, you’ll see this as a gradually traveling Battle Bus marked by a medallion. This has probably been the best landing spot in the early days of the season.
It’s the easiest way to get a boss car. Land on either the Battle Bus or the Boss car, pickaxe the henchmen or the drivers’ window, then take out the shield of the boss. They’ll get out of the car to have a normal gunfight. That’s when you strike. Well, steal their car.
You can just jump in the car. Either take it, or use its weapons to take out the boss and grab the Machinist’s new medallion.
Within the first thirty seconds of a game, you’ve got a medallion, one of the best cars, and a regenerating source of 2,000 health. It’s basically one of the easiest ways to get set up for a game. You can then head to a POI and take out players with your turrets to get some normal loot too.
Nitrodome

A really fun POI on the new map is the Nitrodome. It’s a gladiator arena made for cars. Land here and you can quickly fit out a car with all of your needed upgrades. Plus, chests to get a shotgun or rifle if you really need an actual weapon in Chapter 5 Season 3 for some reason too.
Once you’ve spent a short duration of time in the central Nitrodome ring, it’ll activate the boss. You can see this at the top of the map marked by a countdown, similar to claiming the rift in island. The boss pops out, and you take them out to get both a Boss car and a medallion.
Grim Gate

One of the best Fortnite landing spots from last season has actually managed to stick at the top. There isn’t a medallion anymore, but Cerberus’ shotgun is still around as a Mythic. Land here, grab some guns, and you can challenge him to a duel. Then you get that same OP mythic from last season.
Outside of the boss fight, there’s still plenty to like here. The chest spawn density of a former headline POI, the green skulls effect, plus it’s right above the new biome. Perfect POI hot drop if you don’t want to tackle one of the brand-new areas off the bat this season.
The Underworld

The Underworld no longer has a boss and medalion, but there’s a lot of fun to be had here.
There is still a ton of loot here. You’ll be able to get kitted out for an entire game. Since it’s kind of remote, it’s often empty too. A squad’s set of items without having to fight off loads of teams. There’s also the green skulls for you to zip away fairly quickly. It’s a bit lighter for car gameplay, but there are plenty of normal guns here.
Lavish Lair

If you don’t fancy going for a medallion every game, there are alternatives to fighting. Lavish Lair is one of them.
In the days since the Fortnite C5 S3 update, Lavish Lair has kind of bounced back. It now has Oscar back, with a much easier fight to get his OP gun. The pOI itself is a bit odd too. It’s got loads of loot, but still feels a bit weird. Kind of like liminal space. Where previously there was life there’s now just empty rooms. This is perfect for a quieter start.
They’ve still got their outsized loot with tons of chest spawns. However, fewer are dropping here. Lavish Lair is our pick just for being remote enough to feel almost entirely private. Plus, an easy Mythic shotgun. Great if you’re trying to win this game of Fortnite without relying entirely on cars.
Those are our picks for the best Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 Fortnite Landing Spots. This is a fun map, but most of the Boss cars are concentrated in a single area. However, with mobility tools in the old Underworld sections, there’s quite a bit happening all over the map.
