The New Weapons in the Fortnite New Season

New weapons are the lifeblood of the game every time in a Fortnite new season. This time, there are some really fun new additions.

Kinetic Blade

The most notable is probably the Kinetic Blade, which replaces the Shockwave Hammer. It lets you both rotate and do damage, making it a great melee. The rotation is similar to the blink mechanic in the paste. It has three uses which recharge, you jump in the air for a few seconds before bursting in the direction you’re facing. You can use it to rotate, but also deal damage with a multi-part sword attack that deals damage. You can only find this weapon in the new biome and lockboxes, so keep this in mind when looting.

Shotgun

The next major addition is the new Shotgun. It’s a new type of pump, which we’re sure fans will be excited to hear! It hits hard but there’s a lengthy gap between shots that can be lethal. If you can grab it in the Mythic rarity, it’s a one-shot kill, but those are rare. There’s a new slower AR and some other returning weapons like the Cobra DMR.

Heisted Weapons

Also making a return outside of competitive play are the Heisted weapons from last season. All of these new weapons are going to be important in the Fortnite new season. Try them out and get a feel for them as they’re some of the best we’ve seen in a while!

New Maps in the Fortnite New Season

The new changes to the map could have a full Fortnite guide by themselves, but what’s the main takeaway for the new season? The Japanese-styled biome is a big addition, which takes up the bottom right of the map.

There are three new POIs in there. Mega City is particularly expansive, it’s absolutely huge with enough loot to support loads of players. Outside of the named locations though, there’s still a lot in this area. Houses spread around often come with a guaranteed Kinetic Blade spawn. It’s going to be a great place to land, especially if you take advantage of all the mobility here.

Outside of the new biome, there’s not a lot of change. Since there are no special chests here anymore though, there’s lower-quality loot all over the former Oathbound spots. Be careful dropping here as your main source of high-level loot has likely turned into a normal chest.

Best Tips to Win This Season

• Augment Refreshed – A lot of augments have been vaulted. Don’t waste all your gold searching for one that isn’t there anymore.
• Kinetic Blade combos – With the aerial augment you can essentially use a kinetic blade facing upwards for unlimited launchpad rotations.
• OS Upgrades – Older OSes are no longer supported. Players should re-optimize to get the best Fortnite settings if they’ve been affected.
• Vaults are Back – The boss characters might not be there at first, but the same Most Wanted characters are back with their vaults. They rift into the game after a few minutes.
• Rifting POI – A new POI with a house rifts into random spots each game. Underneath the house though is another Vault, and this one is unguarded.
• Launchpads – These are now located all over the snow biome and the new Japanese-styled area. This side of the pad naturally gets a much bigger bonus for rotation compared to the past one.
• One-Shot Kills – With snipers and a new pump, these are back. You can’t afford to be easy prey to long-range players anymore.
• Mythics – The only Mythic in the game right now is the shotgun, of which there are four in each game.
