Destiny 2 Fortnite Skins – Is Collab Returning to the Game?

Fortnite has loads of crossovers, including with tons of icons of gaming. Destiny 2 Fortnite skins were one of the most exciting in the last few years. It was a bit of a weird pick for a collab at the time, but the skins have fitted into the world of Fortnite perfectly. During the initial collab, we saw quite a few Destiny 2 Fortnite skins added. What came to the game and how long will the collab stick around in the item shop this time?

The new collab has returned over the past few days, a nice surprise in the opening weeks of Chapter 5 Season 3. The collab is back in the item shop, but there isn’t anything new this time. We’re not looking at a wave 2 for this Fortnite collab. It is a good chance to get the skins if you missed their last appearance though. What’s included in the Destiny 2 Fortnite collab?

Destiny 2 Collab

Destiny 2 is one of the most well-loved games in its genre, with a dedicated player base sticking with the title over the long term. Collabs with franchises from deep in the annuals of gaming history are more common, but Destiny 2 is a more recent game to hit the Battle Royale. It makes sense given the close relationship between Epic and destiny maker Bungie though.

The collab interestingly went two ways. We got Destiny 2 Fortnite skins, but also some Fortnite inspired skins in Destiny as well. The skins in Fortnite included a few Destiny characters.

The Destiny 2 Fortnite collab wasn’t a one-off event. It’s one of the Fortnite crossovers which hasn’t been back very much. However, it’s just returned to the item shop. This is what’s available in the game at the moment:

  • Commander Zavala
  • Ikora Rey
  • Exo Stranger
  • Sparrow Glider
  • Black Talon Pickaxe
  • Crown-Splitter Pickaxe
  • The Lament Pickaxe
  • Legends of the Light and Dark Bundle

Those are each of the new items in the colalb in the store right now. The skins are each priced at 1,500 v-bucks. The harvesting tools are at 500, outside of one with multiple styles that’s 800. If you want to collect more than one of the skins though, the Bundle might be the best choice. That’s 2,700 but it includes most of the content.

When Do the Destiny 2 Fortnite Skins Leave the Game?

The collab is back at the moment, but anyone waiting around for a particular collab knows Fortnite doesn’t always bring stuff back much. Skins can go missing for years at a time! At the moment, the Destiny 2 Fortnite skins are going to be in the game until the 8th of June’s item shop refresh. Just a few days for these items to be available.

Players will have until then to pick them up. They can and probably will come back in the future though. Skins can return frequently, or disappear. We can’t predict when they’ll next be back though. If you want to unlock the Destiny 2 Fortnite skins it might be best to act before they get vaulted again.
