Fortnite’s FNCS is its premier tournament event for the game. Each season, we see the best players in every region go head-to-head. However, it’s the Global Championship where we get to see the best players from across the world in a single lobby. The FNCS Global Championship 2024 is going to conclude the entire year of competitive Fortnite.

Across all three majors, everything has been leading to this. We’ve already seen a good number of teams qualify for the Grand Royale through impressive results at the seasonal Majors. It’s hard to predict where things will go once all the top Fortnite players are in a single Battle Bus though. How will this tournament work and when can you catch it?

Format

The FNCS Global Championship 2024 are essentially our finals for the year. While this is a stand-alone tournament played on the latest Fortnite version of the game, it’s the performances over the whole of Chapter 5 that have gotten teams here.

The format for the FNCS Global Championship 2024 is quite simple. There’s a total of 12 rounds being played over a couple of days. Each game contributes to an overall leaderboard. The team leading overall wins the championship. Scoring is simple too, points for placement and kills. Starting with a lot of points for Victory Royales, and less for placing higher in general.

That’s how it’ll work, but when can you catch the tournament? It’s all taking place over this week. With a first session on Saturday September 7th, and a second one on Sunday. These two sessions will decide who the top Fortnite player for the year is.

FNCS Global Championship 2024 Prize Pool

Winning the FNCS Global Championship carries the honor of being champions for the Chapters esports. However, there’s a huge actual prize pool on offer here too. This is how the prizes work out for players:

  • 2nd – $300,000
  • 3rd – $200,000
  • 4th – $160,000
  • 5th – $120,000
  • 6th – $90,000
  • 7th – $60,000
  • 8th – $50,000
  • 9th – $40,000
  • 10th – $30,000
  • 11th – 15th- $24,000
  • 16th – 20th – $20,000
  • 21st – 25th – $16,000
  • 26th – 30th – $14,000
  • 31st – 35th – $12,000
  • 36th – 40th – $10,000
  • 41st – 45th – $8,000

How to Watch the FNCS Global Championship 2024

If you want to follow along with the FNCS Global Championship 2024, there’s plenty of ways to get involved. Fortnite esports aren’t the type of tournaments with some exclusive rights sold to a single platform. This is where you can watch:

  • Official Fortnite YouTube
  • Official Fortnite Twitch
  • Fortnite website
  • In-game Legends Landing Map
  • Social media livestreams

You can catch the main broadcast of the tournament through all of these places. Although, Legend’s Landing might be the most convenient, since it’s simple to get any drops this way if you want to collect all the free Fortnite items that you can.
