FNCS Major 2 Day 1
Queasy and Veno Dominate Europe for FNCS Major 2
The big winners of the FNCS Major 2’s first day are Queasy and veno. The two have established such an early lead that other Duos might not be able to close the gap up at all.
The first game of the tournament was taken by Merstach and TaySon. They got the Victory Royale, but only managed to grab two kills in a mixed performance. Queasy and Veno set themselves out as one of the top squads even at this early stage. They had five kills and placed second. The next game they kicked things up a notch though.
In the second game, they grabbed a victory Royale. They also secured three kills. Round three was more of a misfire for the Duo, only securing 15th place but still getting five kills to continue their climb in points. After that, it began to look like the FNCS Major 2 winner had been locked in already.
Queasy and Veno went on to win the next three consecutive games. They took seven kills in round four, five in round five, and three in round six. This gave them four Victory Royales out of six total games, and a crazy lead in points. It will be pretty shocking if anyone else can stage a comeback and actually take the title away from these two.
Rest of the World
The performance in Europe is definitely the highlight of Day One for the FNCS Major 2. There were some other strong performances in other regions though. Some of the best Fortnite teams are yet to finish all of their rounds.
Australia has been a much closer region, but one team has come close to matching things in terms of Victory Royales. Sorif and Skits took three consecutive Victory Royales in the first three games. Getting nine kills, then seven kills, and then eight. Their performance was only really let down in the second half of the FNCS Major 2 Day One. They had a particularly bad game in round five, coming 14th without a single kill. They might still be able to close the gap on Suns and Anon in first in the second day though.
That’s what we learnt over the opening rounds of FNCS Major 2. The tournament still has a while to go before we cross the finish line though. There’s still time for others to close up the gap and take the win at the FNCS Grand Finals. Fortnite news over the weekend is going to be dominated by those who can come in first here.
