Since cars were added, Epic has been gradually incorporating more and more collabs to them. At first, it was super cars with custom models around the map. More recently, they’ve become skins that change your car’s model to one from the Fortnite item shop entirely. There have been rumors of these becoming a bigger part of the game’s crossovers. With even cars from pop-culture appearing alongside skins, like the Batmobile or Delorean.

The latest collab for Fortnite vehicles isn’t a famous car from the movies though. It’s the kind of controversial and interestingly designed car from Telsa. A Fortnite Cybertruck skin.

The Fortnite Cybertruck was initially announced this week, and at first, it seemed this would be a paid skin. However, with today’s Fortnite update, we’ve learned it’s actually a freebie! To some, there are obvious jokes that spring to mind about the truck being so unpopular it has to be given anyway. However, it is a chance to get a free cosmetics for cars in the game, something that has so far had a strange pricing system.

How to Get the Fortnite Cybertruck for Free

If you want to unlock the Fortnite Cybertruck skin, you’ll need to play through some Summer Road Trip quests just added. Completing nine of them will unlock the entire Cybertruck bundle for you! That’s the skin and added cosmetics.

These quests aren’t very complicated, but they might be time-intensive. To finish them, players have to earn XP in creative modes, then in Epic maps, then Creative Mode, then Epic maps, and so on. This needs to be done nine times! While they’re not complicated quests they are time intensive. If you’ve got weeklies or other high XP activities to do in Battle Royale, then now might be the time to get them done to ensure you get all the free Fortnite skins you possibly can.

In a new trailer released today, Epic has shown off a new cosmetic coming to the game. You’ll be able to purchase a Fortnite Cybertruck skin. This is joining skins from popular makers of supercars in-game, and designs from the wide worlds of media. The Fortnite Cybertruck is a stranger pick though.

Since it was first unveiled, there’s been a fascination with the car from areas of the internet. Physically, it looks like a bizarre low-poly video game mode. Since its manufacture began it made headlines for a lot of the wrong reasons, including proving kind of dangerous. However, the car definitely has an interesting visual. It’s hard to miss.

Joining the Fortnite skins line-up, it might fit in a little better in the chaotic world of Fortnite. The trailer for the new skin reveal is a bit bigger than what we normally get for random car crossovers. Clearly Epic has big hopes for this Fortnite Cybertruck collab. While the cars skins have been criticized for their pricing in the past, it’s at least a little more affordable in V-Bucks than in real life.
