You Can Buy Skins Out of Game with the Fortnite Web Item Shop
For a long time, the only way to check what was in the Fortnite Item Shop was to boot up the game! Well, check a third-party website or open up the game. If you wanted to buy something, you’d have to hope you were close to a machine that could run Fortnite! However, this week we’ve seen the launch of a Fortnite web Item Shop. A new way to check in on the cosmetics being rotated in and out.
Not only is this new site a way to check what Fortnite skins and emotes are in the shop when you’re not playing, it’s a bit more. It’s basically an isolated version of the Item Shop in full. This is a website where you can log in with Fortnite and even buy new items! How does it work and what can you use this new site for?

New Fortnite Web Item Shop Launches
Just a few days out from launching Chapter 5 Season 4, Epic has added some interesting functionality to its website. There’s now a shop.
Not in the sense of a go-to spot to buy Fortnite toys or merch, but a website version of the in-game item shop. It’s a version of the item Shop tab in-game you can access from anywhere you have an internet connection.
This has obviously utility for everyone who is wondering what’s in the store on any given day. However, there’s a bit more to it. Since this is an official Fortnite website not just a tracker, you can actually make use of things. In the shop, you look at your V-Buck balance as well as redeem those V-Bucks for items in-game. It’s a way you can buy Fortnite skins without having to jump into the game. If you’ve missed out on quickly leaving items in the past because you don’t play every minute of every day, this will make sure you don’t miss out again.
How to Use the New Item Shop

If you want to start picking things up using the new store, it’s easy to use:
- Go to Fortnite.com/shop
- Log in with your Epic account, or you might already be logged in
- Click on an item to view it in more detail
- Click the normal Buy Button
In appearance, this store is the exact same as what you’ve seen on other platforms! It even lets you check what V-Bucks are tied to a single platform you’ve got kicking around. It’s going to make it a lot easier to pick up skins and keep an eye on cosmetics. You can always act now if one of the rarest Fortnite skins comes back or just something that’s been on your list for quite a while.
