The Mythic Goldfish Fortnite item has finally made a return! After its initial appearance back in Chapter 2, this truly Mythic item has alluded most players. With the launch of a new mode though it’s back in a big way.

The new Fortnite Reload mode is an exciting fresh take on the Battle Royale format. Its loot pool has been especially interesting though. It’s a fresh take on some classic weapons. A mixture of chapter 1 and Chapter 2 items with a familiar feel to the Fortnite OG season. One surprise inclusion though has been this goldfish.

This item has an interesting history in the game. This newest version of it seems a little easier to find, but still a pretty rare item. This is how it works and how you can find the Mythic Goldfish in Fortnite.

What is the Mythic Goldfish Fortnite Item?

The Mythic Goldfish is a Fish in the game. Like the floppers and Shield Fish, it’s a species you can collect originally by using a fishing rod. It’s a mythic tier item, like the Chapter 5 Mythics you get from bosses. It’s a bit rarer than that though.

When it was first added, the odds of fishing one up at random was pretty much 1 in every million. It was ridiculously rare.

Players trying to track it down themselves had to go some extreme lengths, with some content creators recruiting an entire lobby of players fishing non-stop, and still taking days to find one.

Once collected, it had particularly unique properties. It wasn’t quite a healing item like normal Floppers. Instead, you threw it at people and it nearly insta-killed. The Mythic Goldfish Fortnite item is especially fun. Being this rare though, it’s hard to rely on it.

Where Can You Get the Mythic Goldfish?

The new goldfish in the game isn’t quite as rare as it used to be. It’s exclusive to the Fortnite Reload map. However, it isn’t just from fishing.

Reload has a special mechanic for the mythic items. They have a very low chance of randomly spawning out of the chest. Pretty much every loot location could contain one. You could get it from a chest, you could get it from a supply drop, it’s all out there to grab.

There’s a special method to track one down. You’ll have to open up loot locations over and over until you stumble on one! It’ll be exciting finally tracking one down though.
