Every day we see new skins cycled in and out of the Fortnite item shop. Often these are new, or something that comes back fairly frequently. However, we also occasionally get skins coming back after a major break. There’s one item where that inexplicably hasn’t been the case though, the Trench Raider Fortnite skin.

The Trench Raider skin was originally released back at the beginning of Chapter 2. However, it hasn’t really been seen since. Even though skins associated with it have been back in the interim. Will it ever be back in the Fortnite Item Shop? Why is this skin exciting to players and how can you get it?

Trench Raider Fortnite Skins

The Trench Raider Fortnite skin was originally released at the launch of Chapter 2, a bit of a nautical-themed item. Since Chapter 2 added fishing and swimming from the outset it was a fitting release. The item first appeared in November 16th. However, it vanished after this.

It eventually made a comeback in January 2020. Since then, it’s been missing though. That’s over 1,600 days without an appearance in the item shop! Most of the rare skins that reach this level only do so because they were in the item shop by mistake or part of a time-limited bundle. Although, with Battle Pass Exclusivity leaving that won’t be as much of a factor anymore.

The skin was part of a set, the Fathoms Deep set. However, the others haven’t been locked out of the item shop for the same amount of time. These seem to come back plenty.

The Trench Raider Fortnite skin on the other hand doesn’t seem to have a clear reason for not coming back. It just happens to be one of the rarer Fortnite skins right now.

Will the Trench Raider Fortnite Skin come back?

The big question with this skin is if it’s coming back at any point in the future. We’re about to move back into Fortnite Chapter 2 with a second round of OG. This could see a lot more Chapter 2 items released in the shop over the month look mini-season. This could be the perfect time for the Trench Raider Fortnite skin to come back!
