LCO Playoffs – Who will advance to Worlds?

With only two matches left to go, the LCO will soon crown Oceania’s top team to represent the region in the upcoming 2022 League of Legends World Championship. The final 3 teams, Chiefs Esports Club, ORDER and Pentanet.GG have all long been amongst the most dominant teams for years, with 2022 being no different.

ORDER vs. Pentanet.GG – Lower bracket final

This bout is a rematch of the earlier Upper bracket semifinals following the defeat both teams faced against the Chiefs Esports Club. ORDER and Pentanet.GG are very evenly matched, with both having won a match against each other in the group stage. They are also similarly consistent performers, each decisively winning against other lower tiered teams in the group stage to finish solidly in second and third seed.

The close rivalry between ORDER and Pentanet.GG was seen once again in their earlier Upper bracket semifinals playoff match going to the full five rounds, this time 3-2 in ORDER’s favor. However, while ORDER were the victors in their recent bout, Pentanet.GG do have the slight advantage coming into this match. ORDER’s three wins were much closer, with games all going over 35 minutes. However, Pentanet’s wins were quicker and more decisive, one of which had been a 25 minute one-sided victory.

Prediction: ORDER 47% l Pentanet.GG 53%

Finals predictions

Ultimately, whether it be ORDER or Pentanet.GG, the favourites to win it all and advance to LoL Worlds remains to be the Chiefs Esports Club. The Chiefs started off 2022 strong, finishing the 2022 LCO Split 1 group stage with an amazing 19-2 record. Unfortunately, they fell slightly short to ORDER in the playoffs finals, missing out on MSI and competing against the top teams globally. However, they are stronger than ever in Split 2, currently undefeated in both the Group stage and playoffs stage to date.

Prediction: Chiefs to win 80%
