MOONTON has announced the venue for the M6 World Championship, scheduled to happen later this year. The competition is set to take place at the same venue where the M Championships were born, the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Currently, the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2024 is taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a part of the Esports World Cup. As the event draws to a close, MOONTON has given fans something to be excited about, and it’s the venue for the next edition of the world championship.
The Axiata Arena is where the M World Championships were born, back in 2019, and it has played a big role in the inception of the current gigantic MLBB esports scene.
MOONTON hasn’t announced any other details about the event yet, though. The Axiata Arena will only play host to the Grand Finals and the semifinals. The extended group stage and playoffs will happen at a different venue. Fans should find out closer to the end of the year.
In the M1 World Championship, only $250,000 was on the line, and Indonesia’s EVOS Legends claimed the trophy.

This was also the last time Indonesia lifted the M World Championship trophy. The previous five editions of the tournament have all been won by Filipino teams.
The M5 World Championship took place in Malaysia and the Philippines, with a prize pool of $900,000 on the line. In the end, a resurgent AP.Bren took down ONIC Esports in one of the most exciting finals in a close 4-3 match to become the champions.
It remains to be seen if they can defend the title this year, or if Indonesia can reclaim their throne. That’s not all, though, as other regions have also been catching up to the two giants of MLBB esports. The trophy could very well be for anyone.
Additionally, the M5 World Championship was one of the most watched MLBB esports tournaments, garnering a peak viewership of more than 5 million, per Esports Charts.
