Ninjas in Pyjamas enters MLBB, eyes prestigious slot in the Mid-Season Cup 2024
Ninjas in Pyjamas joins a growing list of Western esports organizations, all part of the Saudi government-backed Esports World Cup Foundation’s Club Support Program, to enter MLBB esports. The new NIP Flash roster consists of the following players:
- Yeo “Diablo” Wee Lun

Why are teams flocking to MLBB esports?
Besides NIP, many esports organizations have recently entered MLBB. This includes Team Vitality, Fnatic in a partnership with Onic, Liquid partnering with ECHO, and Falcons with AP.Bren.
This influx into MLBB esports isn’t very surprising, though. Firstly, these esports organizations are a part of the Club Partner Program in the Esports World Cup, as a part of which they have been promised a one-time stimulus to enter into new titles. It’s unclear if this stimulus has been paid out yet, however.
Secondly, MLBB is one of the most promising esports titles currently. The game is amongst the most viewed esports games globally, surpassing even the likes of some major League of Legends and Dota 2 tournaments. The M5 World Championship, for example, achieved a peak viewership of 5 million, per Esports Charts.
Lastly, the teams in the Club Program are vying for the Club Championship title in the Esports World Cup. The Club Championship has a prize pool of $20 million. This will be distributed based on the performance of organizations across the different esports tournaments in the World Cup.
