According to multiple reports, there are rumors that the winner of the upcoming BMPS 2025 will get a slot in the PUBG Mobile World Cup. The PMWC is slated to occur in July during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. Sources close to Esports.net can confirm that members from Krafton India have asked BGMI professional players to keep their passports ready.
While they didn’t indicate the reason, many believe this has been asked as Krafton India plans to send a team from India to any of the major PUBG Mobile Tournaments. Since the announcement of the PMWC in 2024, we have always seen a special invite slot for a particular team that is only announced closer to the tournament.
Before we get into the reports, there are two things to remember. The first is the roadmap for PUBG Mobile Esports in 2025. The second is the timeline of all the BGMI Esports tournaments slated to take place in 2025.
The roadmap of PUBG Mobile Esports was announced earlier this year. The main tournaments within this would be the PUBG Mobile Global Open, the PUBG Mobile World Cup, and the PUBG Mobile Global Championship. The PMGO took place in Uzbekistan in April this year. During this event, no special invite slot was left for any team.
Two weeks later, Battlegrounds India Series 2025 took place in Kolkata. During that event, Team Versatile Esports secured the Championship, while Godlike Esports finished second. According to our sources, players during BGIS 2025 were asked if they had a passport. If not, they must apply for one.

There is certain circumstantial evidence to prove that this report could be true. As stated earlier, the PMWC has one special invite still left. Last year, it was given to Vampire Esport from Thailand, which confused many fans, as seen in the announcement’s comments. This year, BMPS has been pushed ahead by two months. BMPS 2024 took place in September, while BMPS 2023 took place in December.
While Krafton India stated that the entire 2025 Esports roadmap would be announced during BGIS, it wasn’t. The only information provided is that BMPS 2025 will take place in Delhi in July. If this were the case, then there would be no official tournaments for nearly five months.
Another point to note is that the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025, which is slated to take place during November, has two special invite slots. Last year, there was just one special invite slot. It was given to the 2023 PMGC Champions, IHC Esports. Thus, it could be speculated that if not the PMWC, Krafton India is laying the groundwork to possibly invite an Indian team during PMGC.
According to our sources, Krafton India hasn’t announced any tournaments post-July 2025 due to not receiving venue confirmations. During 2024, they had planned for a third official event, but it didn’t occur due to logistical issues.
It does feel like Krafton India is waiting to get all confirmations concerning possibly giving a BGMI team a slot in a PUBG Mobile event. If this does happen, it would be the first time we see a direct acknowledgement by Krafton India concerning the PUBG Mobile ecosystem since the relaunch of BGMI.
