PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2024: Teams, Format, Stream, & More

The PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) is here with its inaugural edition in 2024. The tournament is set to be the first of three international esports events in the BR game’s roadmap. While the other two present a mid-season tournament and the year-end world championship, the PMGO was introduced to have a more open format, giving every player a chance at playing one of PUBG Mobile esports’ biggest stages.

The PMGO 2024 will happen from April 5 to 7 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is the first major esports event happening in the South American country, which has a substantial player base for PUBG Mobile. Here’s everything you need to know about the event.

Who are the teams in the PMGO 2024?

In the main, 16 teams will be competing for the title. Of these, seven have received a direct invite based on their regional ranking in the PMGC from all the partnership PUBG Mobile esports leagues, also known as the PUBG Mobile Super League.

The remaining teams, on the other hand, played through the open qualifiers and prelims for a spot at the PMGO. Here is the full list of teams competing for the title in Brazil:

What is the format and where to watch

The 16 teams will play six matches per day for a total of 18 matches in the PMGO 2024 Main Event.

Fans can tune into all the action live on the PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch channels in multiple languages. The action will go live from 9AM onwards between April 5 and 7.

What is at stake in the PMGO 2024?

Besides the bragging rights, there is a prize pool of $356,000 at stake in the PMGO 2024 Main Event. The winning team will walk away with $100,000 of this total prize pool. Furthermore, the champion’s region will receive an additional spot at the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, the next international esports event in PUBG Mobile’s roadmap.
