Super Smash Bros Movie Has Reportedly Been Pitched
Super Smash Bros is a huge crossover event, with the biggest names from across gaming represented in its roster. With more and more video games getting big screen adaptations, the topic of the Super Smash Bros movie has long been an area of speculation. According to a recent report, that movie could be closer than we think.
In recent years, we’ve seen quite a few different Smash Bros names get adaptations. Sonic is heading into its third major movie. Now, Nintendo embracing the silver screen recently could be a game changer. The Mario Movie was released fairly recently and did pretty well. A Zelda movie is apparently in the works too. This does set the stage pretty well for a potential Super Smash Bros movie. It could be an Avengers-style crossover event with all the ultimate Smash Bros characters.

Super Smash Bros Movie Could Be in the Works
The Smash Bros Movie has been speculated on since Sonic and Mario both got big screen outings. However, this week, we’ve learnt it might be a bit closer. DanielRPK has claimed on Twitter that a pitch has been made for the Super Smash Bros movie.
This feature would definitely be a huge crossover event. We’d likely see the Mario characters featured in Smash represented here like Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser. However, the upcoming Zelda movie helps flesh out the roster too. Nintendo’s other franchises like Pokémon, have had past adaptations too. Then there are franchises like Kirby, Fire Emblem, and others which could appear.
According to this source, the movie has been pithed by Illumination. They’re behind the recent Mario movie. They might not be in charge of other adaptations, though. This could limit the crossover characters we see compared to the video game Smash Bros, like Sonic and Solid Snake.
It’s important to keep in mind that even if this source is trustworthy about the story, it is just a pitch that’s been rumored. Nintendo might not go for the idea, or the source’s information could turn out to be incorrect. With different games getting adaptations, though, there are plenty of reasons to think a Super Smash Bros movie could work well.
