Blanka Street Fighter – Key Info and Backstory

  • Height – 6’4
  • Weight – 216 lbs
  • First Appearance – Street Fighter II

Blanka is a bit of a Wildman. When it comes to Blanka Street Fighter 6 lore, he’s an adventure tour guide with an intimate knowledge of his jungle home. He’s trying to use these skills in navigating a harsh environment to find fame as a Street Fighter, and win a better life for his mother.

In terms of the ongoing lore, Blanka in Street Fighter 6 is coming from a similar position to other long-standing characters. Kind of like Guile in Street Fighter, he’s got decades of video game appearances influencing his character here! Blanka is a green-skinned man who competes in the World Warrior tournaments. This is the spark for his mother to reconnect with Blanka, recognising him from an anklet originating before Blanka was lost in a plane crash over the jungle!

His power often involves some of his innate abilities, which includes being able to make electricity! In the games since, Street Fighter’s Blanka has moved around quite a bit, and even become slightly more civilized. That’s where we jump back in for Street Fighter 6.

FAQ

What Happened to Blanka in Street Fighter?

Blanka was lost over the jungle as a child, and grew up there isolated in the wilderness. After the attack, he got attacked by electric eels which for some reason gave him the powers of electricity and changed his skin color.

Is Blanka a Hero or Villian?

Blanka isn’t really a villainous figure in Street Fighter, more a victim of circumstance which has given him a villainous appearance. Since his background is less anatomist than characters like Cammy though, he’s had less opportunities for that kind of thing.

He’s more of a supporting character than a true hero, but he’s definitely a good guy compared to some in the cast.

What Species is Blanka?

He’s a human! Just one that got a bit transformed to make him look less than human.
